Confessions | DJ Sessions & Bar in Tulum — Restaurant in Tulum

If I could I wouldn’t give any stars. We arrived an hour before the “party” starts to get some drinks and bites before. We walked in and thought it was weird that it was just us and another table. But we assumed it was because we arrived early. Right when you walk in they tell you that you need to spend 1000 pesos per person. ( about $56 USD ) to get in to consumer beverages and bar food. we were a group of 4 so off the bat 4000 pesos down. (225 USD) then they say if you go over you pay the difference, if you don’t they “cant” give you money back. So you have to spend. Then we waited and waited and the place was absolutely DEAD. Everyone started leaving slowly because nothing was happening. Even the dancers kept going and coming back bc it was just a bad party. Drinks were okay but nothing we haven’t tasted in the other restaurants.

And when we decided to leave they said we were obligated to give them $800 pesos for tip. To think that they promised something and no one informed us and then still charge us for their “service” was ridiculous. & BEWARE of the guys outside saying they are valet for confessions. They say they are together and take card, then when we left, they said they were a completely separate service and only took cash. & gave us a really hard time to leave. Horrible experience. This was our best night during our engagement trip. FYI Im not getting anything from this post

1. venue. Amazing. Jungle luxury boheme vibe. It just looks like what you would hope to find in Tulum. White sand dance floor. Dj stand with light show and effects. Long and large bar. Candle lighting.

2. service. The attention was at every level. The service was extremely attentionate. Just an example: fiancée got up to dance and they put her shoes under her chair to not lose them or step on them. Polo was our waiter. GREAT service.

3. music. I have been to 100+ EDM shows accross Canada and the USA. DJ Andreas Fyrs that played tonight has to be in my top 3. bangers after bangers. He is the reason we stayed when passing through the bar. It only got better. We have tickets to Bagatelle and don’t want to leave lol. Every time we think it can’t get better, it does haha. Imagine afro house mixed with high tempo EDM dance and oldies mixed with some basslines and slower reverb vibes. This DJ MADE our Tulum trip. My Fiancée and I danced on our chairs until we couldnt resist and stand up. Hopefully we will see him play again

AVOID! We booked a table for 10 people weeks in advance and confirmed it with the promoter and club. When we showed up at 10pm the manager, Rodrigo, said there was a special DJ on so only people who paid cover could get a table. We explained our table booking said no cover applied for the event if we arrived before 11pm and he said no tables were available (even though they were all empty). He told us he would get us a free round of shots while he tried to find a table. When we ordered the shots he was behind the bar and told the bartender they were for free (everyone heard), then he left and the bartender charged us $140 for them. We brought Rodrigo back to talk to the bartender and he denied ever saying they would be free - even though every single person in our group heard. He never got us a table. Our friend also left her phone here and they wouldn’t let us back in to find it even though that’s where Find My iPhone said it was.
