Honestly, The Beach Tulum is the ultimate relaxation paradise, and exactly the experience my wife and I were looking for to celebrate our 5-day honeymoon. We were originally leaning towards similar all-inclusive properties closer towards Cancun, but I'm honestly so happy we landed on The Beach Tulum.||First, shout out to everyone on the team who made our trip once in a lifetime! -- Axel, Carla, Anabella, Vale and Ken, among so many others I can't remember the names of -- You are the best of the best!||Room -- We splurged and opted for the junior suite, and I would HIGHLY recommend you do so as well if you're on the fence. We loved the room design, and opening up your sliding doors right to the beach is unbeatable. The small plunge pool on the patio was a nice addition. We didn't find the hammock to be comfortable. They provide complimentary water||Property -- Apart from the obvious breath-taking views of the beach (I found myself planted on our patio staring at for literal hours at a time) the pool area is beautifully designed as well. We spent probably half of our trip in the pool just hanging out. The entire resort is on sand so you can stay barefoot the whole trip, if you desire. I was also impressed with how clean it was; the cleaning team was constantly cycling through the areas, making sure they were tidy.||Lastly, we visited during the sargassum (seaweed) season, and it was especially heavy during this week. The hotel does a great job cleaning up most of it, but it's impossible to make a spotless beach. It didn't bother us.||Food & Bev -- We ate almost exclusively at Ziggy's and Fresco's our entire trip (we tried a few local places and the food was just ok). The quality of both restaurants are on-par with expensive restaurants back where we live in Los Angeles. Ziggy's is right on the beach, so you get the beautiful view and beach breeze. Fresco's is located on the other (non-beach) side, so we found it to be slightly hotter and with more flies bothering you. Both had seriously good food! ||The cocktails at the main bar, and both restaurants, were remarkable! They have a huge selection of tequila/mezcal to make a handful of various margaritas, among other specialty drinks. I honestly think we tried them all... My favorite was the fresh passionfruit juice they would use for mixers. The drinks were next-level.||Service -- EXCEPTIONAL! Everyone on the resort, from the front desk staff to the cleaning staff, is clearly well trained on providing a 5 star customer experience. The entire crew was so nice and accommodating. You can order whatever you want, to wherever you want on the property, and they will deliver it to you with a smile. The concierge team even set up a special honeymoon bed spread w/ sparkling wine the first night that gave my wife a nice surprise.||I can't rave enough about how amazing the service is here - this was my favorite aspect of the resort that took the experience to the next level.||Extras:||- I surprised my wife with the "Romantic Dinner" package, which was a 5-course food/wine with a private table set up on the beach. The staff made it extra special. Highly recommend!||- We participated in complimentary yoga one of the mornings, which felt very refreshing and we wish we went to more classes (shout out to Greta for a great class)!||- Ceviche making class at Fresco's was a lot of fun and switched up the daily routine!||- The concierge team helped us book an excursion, which included cenote swimming and swimming with the turtles. Obviously we had a blast. They can set up really any custom itinerary...
Read moreWe chose The Beach Hotel Tulum after choosing a last minute getaway for a friends birthday over the 4th of July weekend. It exceeded our expectations from the moment we walked in. Amazing Service, Location, Amenities, and such a calm and peaceful beachfront setting. | Service & Concierge|Jessi, the concierge, was outstanding communication . Her helpfulness in arranging airport shuttle service, making the process seamless even in a busy airport setting. Drivers were professional and even provided cold beers and water. The team also decorated the room for the birthday celebration with fresh florals .| Front Desk|Valeria and Tomas provided a warm welcome with Hibiscus cocktails and a property tour upon check-in. They were easily reachable through the app, which is the only way to communicate from the room.| Room Service|We enjoyed daily room service from Ziggys and Frescos, ordering one entree and two drinks (hot and cold). The food was delicious and prompt, with special mentions to the Avocado Toast, Fresh Fruit Bowls and Iced Lattes. Thank you to Tomas, Anabella, and Karla for their morning deliveries. I also ordered a late lunch and loved the Mushroom Quesadillas with Mezcal Margaritas after a long day at pool.|Caracol Bar: This is more than just a lobby bar, Caracol Bar is a comfortable, boutique space with a wide selection of cocktails. Tomas and Karla provided excellent service, especially during happy hour and with evening room requests for drinks like Espresso Martinis, Tequila Campari, and bottles of wine.| Room|The Beachfront Rooftop Room is "AMAZING". Located on the second floor, it featured three patios for relaxing, enjoying the rooftop hot tub, or having morning coffee by the pool nook. The beds were comfortable, the AC worked well, showers were large, and robes and slippers were a thoughtful addition. |Cleaning service was efficient and rooms were clean by 12pm and I LOVED the turn down service with special treats when we arrived home from night out. | Spa|My swedish massage by Karine was OUTSTANDING!! My friend said her DEEP TISSUE with Mildred was truly AMAZING. They offered her a complimentary cleansing for her birthday and was magical :) | General Experience: |We arrived in July and it was quite hot and the seaweed WAS an extreme issue but the pool was so lovely, the oceanfront beds were perfect to enjoy beachside relaxation. We stayed on property but we did speak with guests that noted great Cenotes and Tours if you want to get in ocean water/see wildlife etc. I cannot recommend this hotel more and our experience in Tulum was above expectations. We walked around at night on the busy street and felt safe as it was the low season but many food and drink options within steps of hotel. I recommend Hartwood, Casa Banana but honestly- we went to Ziggys for a late lunch and the Ceviche, Tacos and Sopes were some of the...
Read moreI came here with my husband to celebrate my 30th birthday. It was also a combination of our honeymoon so we decided to save and splurge on this vacation. We paid for their best room. Upon checking in we were told we needed to leave two forms of deposits, $420 on our credit card and $4,000 pesos in cash. I admit I did find it odd but I figured, this is our first time in Mexico and they may have different procedures so my husband and I went along with it. We watched her jot everything down in her notebook and she said the money would be put in a safe and we could use it towards our remaining balance at checkout. Come check out, and we ask for our cash deposit. They said they don't do cash deposits only credit card deposits. After some back and forth, the manager came out and first said it was against their hotel protocol to take deposits in cash. I told them we were told we had to make two forms of deposits and he immediately was assuming that I was accusing his staff of stealing. I immediately got the sense that he did not believe us. The person who helped us was was apparently on a plane coming back from vacation so there was no getting a hold of her. The manager vouched that she was one of his most diligent workers and she would be able to clear this all up once she lands or I had the option of getting the police involved. We had to catch a flight ourselves and the airport is two hours away from the hotel so I wasn't going to chance missing our flight and us being out even more money. When we got home I emailed the manager to see if he got a hold of her and a few hours later he responds and says that she said she had no recollection of taking a cash deposit from us. He went on to say that there were only two cash deposits jotted down in her records but neither were for my room. I immediately responded, "But, I thought you never took cash deposits??? I thought you said it was against your hotel protocol??" He said he never said that and he even went as far as to say that I imagined the whole thing!
TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!
In Response to their comment below: Your company did not convince the tour company anything. Edwin (our tour guide) offered to cut our tour short due to me falling ill and HE offered the half price since we had only just began the tour. To make sure we would go on another tour he said the next tour we choose would also be half price. When we came back to the hotel Edwin explained the situation to Barbara (the front desk clerk at the time) and we rescheduled our tour with her. When we finally went on the tour we ended up being charged the full price, your office got in contact with Barbara to reassure them that was the agreement that was made. As for the romantic dinner, that is not true. As Tanya (believe that was her name) was checking us out I wanted to use our deposits towards the final bill, the $4,000 pesos and $420 credit. That was when we were told there was no record of the cash deposit. I wanted to go through absolutely every transaction afterwards to make sure we weren't overpaying for...
