Loncheria doña tere — Restaurant in Valladolid

The owner of our Hotel in Valladolid really recomended this place! He said it's a real authentic and humble restaurant, spanish-speaking only, ran by simple people. The place looks humble and old and it has nothing to do with their care and cleaniness. It is indeed clean. We tried 3 kinds of tortillas (panchito, sopes e chalupas), with 3 different tops (meat, pork and chicken), all really tasty and fried a la minute, very hot. Great taste and would achieve perfection if it was a bit dryer, so it had a bit of too much oil but without compromising the dish. The cost of each unit is only 20 pesos, about 1 dollar, incredibly cheap. We spent 7 USD for 2 people. That can't pay a guacamole elsewhere. To sum up, a place worth going, great taste, don't skip it just because of how it looks. We will come back before leaving Valladolid tomorrow to taste...

If you want to eat real mexican food, this is the right place. Escape from the tourist area and walk into a Mexican lunch bar. Idk the table time, but we went at 7.30 pm, and they were popping ! Flavor is good, ambience is nice (keep in mind it is a lunch bar for Mexican, don't expect the courtesy of a tourist restaurant, they don't requiere tourists), they don't speak any other language than Spanish (yes, you are in México y la gente habla español). They have fans, but it gets hot inside. Price... here gets tricky, but it will be way cheaper than 90% of Valladolid restaurants (I still believe they charged us more than the price list says, US$8 for 1 Vaporcito de espelon, 1 Polcanes, 1 Panuchos and 2 drinks, it doesn't...

This place is SUPER INEXPENSIVE! We ordered three empanadas, a tamale, and another fried thing with pork. It was 36 PESOS!! That’s $2 USD! The empanadas weren’t what I was expecting and they did not have much filling at all, but the flavor was not bad. I didn’t care for the fried thing. The tamale however I would definitely order again and just order a bunch of them. If you are on a budget try this place. Try to forget about safety and sanitation and you will be fine.
