My 11 year old and I treated ourselves to three tours!!!!! We wanted both history, culture and nature, and we got it all. Staying in Valladolid was the perfect base to explore all the sites. We did Go Wonders, Go Monkey and Go Flamingo, and I would recommend them all. My kids favourite was Go Flamingo, probably because she got to sit in a boat for 2 hours and we were lucky to see a rather large crocodile and a few younger ones closer up. We had both Jose and Gilberto as our guides over the tours. Both local Mayan people, passionate about their history and great story tellers. Both were able to keep my kid interested. While you can't climb at Chichen Izta, we both enjoyed climbing other sites when we could, and our guides clearly knew the tips for getting into places swiftly, and doing the tours in an order to minimise the crowds. The provided lunches were great. We picked MexiGo Tours over others based on reviews, and I can only...
Read moreWe stayed in Valladolid for 3 days and unfortunately we discovered them too late! We did the “go cenote by night” which was magic (we had the opportunity to swim and have a dinner inside a beautiful cenote), and we also did the “go Maya”, a super interesting bicycle tour (we visited a local market and tasted some local specialties, visited a cenote where we literally "jumped" in the water, cooked tacos and learned the amaca secrets with local Mayan people at their houses).
Josè, who speaks many languages including Italian, was very welcoming and friendly. He brought us to the cenote and along the way he gave us lots of information about Mexican/Maya culture and history… the evening was magic and interesting. The day after, we went for an amazing bicycle tour with Toon, which was super fun and enjoyable: we never stopped laughing and talking about Mexican traditions and history.
We are just very sorry that we didn’t discover...
Read moreHighly recommend MexiGo for the day trip to Chichen Itza. They are very organized and professional. They were very responsive to our questions before the trip, shared the itinerary ahead of time and picked us up on time. Gilberto is a great guide. He is very knowledgeable on Mayan history and Mexican culture. He openly shares what he knows including some great food and music recommendations! He is also funny and good company. He was attentive and considerate of our needs the entire trip.
You get full value of your money with this trip. Lunch is included as well as the entry fee to a beautiful less-crowded cenote. Best complementary surprise was the ice cream at Izimal.
Lastly, a very special shoutout to Vivyana from the MexiGo team office in Valladolid. I dropped my passport on the street on my way from the trip and Vivyana went above and beyond to ensure I was reunited with my passport. She was exceptional and very...
