The food was not good overall. Sopa azteca was very salty and too heavy. The pulpo con castacan was inedible…extremely sour and the castacan (pork belly) was limp and unappealing. The ceasar salad was the worst salad I’ve ever had in my life. There was so much dressing it appeared more like a soup than a salad. I even added the lettuce garnishes from other plates but it was still drowning in dressing. The server asked how everything was & we did say that the salad had way too much dressing and was not edible (very politely). It was still on the bill despite the complaint and the fact that we did not eat more than 2 bites. The margarita was extremely sweet. The guacamole was good. The teenager we were dining with enjoyed the Tabla Regional. The servers were pleasant and service was fast, although there were only 3 others tables. Three of us have worked in the restaurant industry for years, and this was a bad dining experience. We did not feel very well after this meal either. Save yourself the trouble and dine at the various other fine options...
Read moreJavier the owner has been here one year . The chef however has been cooking for this family for 10 years and one of them for 5. Instantly I could tell this was a professional chef . He has studies in the culinary school of Yucatán . I ordered the arrachera . And for drinks we ordered Chaya . I had never heard of this drink but it was delicious . For the rest of my trip I would look for Chaya . Supposedly it has very therapeutic benefits . Comes from a plant . They literally blend a plant but add pineapple and lime . Yum. Please try it you will get hooked like is . Their Totopos with creme also had a pepper local to the Yucatán . The kitchen blends the Yucatán foods splendely . Everything was delicious . The baskets of tortillas were freshly made . Yum I ate the whole basket . Jonathan was our waiter and he was so attentive . Overall we ate like kings and only paid 40$ dollars . Jonathan you ah e a great restaurant and chefs . Keep them happy and we will keep coming back to...
Read moreAn amazing experience, I usually go for street food when I travel, but Paladar de Cura turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip.
The restaurant is beautiful, service is great, the food is delicious and comes in generous portions at a reasonable price.
I highly recommend the "The tabla regional" a culinary tour of the most famous offerings of the area, more than enough for 2 people. We also ordered arrechera (flank steak) it was delicious, and a big portion for one person. I had the "queso relleno" one of the most unique dishes I ever had although not sure it's for everyone. We decided to disregard personal integrity and shared a flan for desert.
In all honesty this food was enough for like 4 people. All dishes, including 2 Chaya/Pineapple/Lime aguas (highly recommend) came out to $1000 pesos($52 USD), which is not bad for a fine restaurant. We will be returning for the specialty desert on our way...
