We are a European couple who have traveled the world and are used to eating some of the best food around. Despite having high standards, we are always happy to try local foods on our travels. January 2024, two of us ate lunch in the garden at Pak'al. We ordered Sopa de Chaya, Sopes de la Casa, and washed it down with 2 of their fresh squeezed juices. Chaya is a plant that only grows in Yucatan, and features prominently in Mayan cuisine. It takes about 20 minutes to cook, and doesn't taste like spinach. It's a fresh, sweet, leafy taste. The Chaya Soup was excellent. In fact, everything was excellent, and the staff were friendly. However, since it's all freshly prepared, it can be a bit slow. So bring a book, and enjoy the lovely food here. Highly recommended. We would...

Pak'al is a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates exceptional food and an unforgettable dining experience.

From the moment you step through the door, you're enveloped in a warm, inviting atmosphere. It looks more like a home.

Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the menu. He made excellent recommendations based on our preferences and was attentive without being overbearing, ensuring our dining experience was smooth from start to finish.

The real star of the show, of course, was the food. Menu is a thoughtfully curated blend of locally sourced ingredients, resulting in excitingly unique dishes.

We are group of 6... tried different juices. All are pretty delicious.

Pak'al will remain a favorite for...

We discovered this little gem on a trip to chichen itza and needed vegetarian options to tide us over. A chance discussion with another restaurant owner led us to Pak'al and after our initial apprehension at the size of the restaurant, we sat down to what was a phenomenal experience. The mushroom soup was the best I've tasted in my mushroom-loving life, the pastas and the burger both an ode to local Yucatan flavors and produce, and the chaya lemonade a wonderful complement to the food. The chef and servers both checked in with us on allergens and confirmed the ingredients to ensure that we were satisfied. Their desserts did not disappoint either. The service was friendly and professional and we will return as early as we can plan our next...

After wandering around Valladolid for a while in search of a spot close to the center with good vegetarian and vegan options (and even kombucha!), we finally stumbled upon Pak’al Restaurante and Cafe and it was worth every minute of the hunt. We chose to sit outside, and the waiter immediately brought us mosquito spray. A little later, noticing we were getting warm, he kindly brought out a fan. Such thoughtful gestures made us feel genuinely cared for. The food was a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds beautifully presented, flavorful, and filling. We tried vegan hibiscus tacos, vegetarian lasagna, Pak’al pasta, and veggie panuchos. Every bite was delicious. If you’re in Valladolid, don’t miss this place it’s a gem!

A hidden gem slightly outside of the center of town, well worth the walk. Everyone else said it, but it’s true! There are lots of veggie, vegan, & gluten free food options. The waiter was super friendly. He brought us glasses of water without us having to ask & later brought us an entire jug! That is unheard of in Latam & went straight to my heart. We arrived within a half hour of their closing time, but they never once made us feel we had to rush. In fact, when we realised we had kept them an hour later, they insisted we not worry about it. The back garden is super cute, though mosquitos are out! So be warned. The waiter brought us big spray, though, which was very thoughtful.
