FANTASTIC COMPANY AND EXPERIENCE! We booked 2 tours with Premier Adventures, to Chichen Itza and Ek Balam. Everything was perfect and we had great couple of days. The booking on the website was easy, with secure payment on the platform. We were given instructions about what to wear.
On arrival to the office in central Valladolid we were greeted and signed the check-in and consent with info. The van (spotless, modern Mercedes vehicle with air con, comfy seats, etc) was ready on time. We had Alan one day, and Ivan the other. Really friendly guides, made the journey comfortable, safe driving.
On arrival to Chichen Itza, our guide Rangel was waiting and we went through the gates without delay. Tickets are arranged before hand by the company, so the horrendous queue was avoided. We were given bottles of water. Rangel was a terrific guide, engaging and making the visit so excellent. We then had about 1h of free time to walk around the ruins, take photos, etc.
We then could either go to the cenote or go for buffet lunch (you could do both, in either order). The cenote was a great experience, not much people at the time, locker and changing room, and shower. Life jackets provided for free, and a lifeguard present there.
Buffer meal was OK, considering the volume of people at Chichen Itza. Food was hot, a mixture of international and Mexican plates.
At Ek Balam, similar great welcome and transfer to the ruins, greet by Casimiro our guide, which made the visit fantastic as he is Maya so speaking about his people and culture. The ruins are extraordinary, and is a much more intimate experience compared with Chichen Itza. The Cenote was lovely, but the life jacket had to be paid for. Food in the buffet was excellent.
Overall, absolutely recommend Premier Adventures, could not think of anything for them to improve and wish them...
Read moreI went on the day tour to Chichén Itzá yesterday and donˊt normally leave reviews but felt compelled to say what an wonderful experience I had with a well-organised but also fun and relaxed tour operator. They all speak fantastic English (perfect for me as my Spanish is rusty!) and made everything easy from start to finish…I booked in their office (main plaza in Valladolid) comfortable, air-conditioned transport from the same location - cold bottled wáter and a mid-morning snack provided. The ancient Mayan city speaks for itself, but the things it canˊt communicate were eloquently and humorously provided by our official guide. He answered all our questions with ease and with obvious passion and wisdom for his subject. We were very smug as a smaller group, arriving earlier than the majority and it felt alot more personal and tailored towards us.. rather than struggling to keep up or hear what our guide was saying! A welcome visit afterwards to the beautiful cenote of Chukum and completely free to manage our own time for the remainder of the afternoon & enjoy a plentiful buffet for lunch - typical Mexican dishes and loads of fresh salad and veggie options. I would highly recommend taking a tour with these guys. Alan, Lupita and the rest of the crew will take excellent care of you. A superb day out and value for...
Read moreI did the express tour of Chichén Itzá on 20 Feb, 2025. Although it was a group tour, there were just 3 of us, a couple and I. Gerry was both our guide and our driver. We left Valladolid Centro on time as advertised in a comfortable, air-conditioned van and reached the site about half an hour after opening time in the morning, which is 8am. It's a good time because you're ahead of most of the big tour groups. Jerry gave us a thorough tour of 6 of the major monuments in perfect English. He is very knowledgeable and I came away feeling that I'd learned a lot. By the time we wrapped up, the site was getting crowded, which confirmed for me that an early arrival is desirable. We were back in Valladolid Centro by lunchtime. The couple had booked the full version of the tour, which includes a visit to a cenote. After dropping me off, Jerry drove off with them to complete their tour. I was happy with my experience and I feel like it was good value for money at 1900 pesos. For comparison, the taxi driver who had driven me from the Tren Maya station to my hotel in Valladolid offered me transportation to Chichén Itzá. He wanted 1200 pesos for the ride there and back and 3 hours onsite. I would have needed to hire a guide on top of that, which puts the Premier Adventures prices in perspective....
