Parque Principal F israncisco Cantón Rosado has been a nice central square inside a beautiful historic city of Valladolid from 1500s. This is a classic Spanish style plaza, rectangular in shape with many trees and benches, as well as a fountain in the middle. It also has a gorgeous Cathedral and great colonial architectures all around. We had yummy home-made ice cream, watched, and enjoyed traditional Mexican dancing and singing in the park. There were lot of vendors in and outside the park and shops with handicraft items, especially wooden Mexican masks that you don’t get everywhere. The prices are reasonable compared to other places. We came here as part of a group tour by Xcaret Transferencias. They have a huge fleet of luxury buses with toilets inside. We were allowed to be here for half-an-hour on our way to Chichen itza. I wish we had more time to enjoy this cute, traditional, and...

Read moreIt's a square in the main town of Valladolid. Close to many hotels and pretty much next to the shopping blocks, it's a good place to relax. We went here as a part of the tour. Many tour buses are parked here. In 15 minutes we didn't get much time but the park is good. There are many benches to sit. The two-person seats are very interesting - very much photo-worthy. We got some locally made chips from a vendor which was good - quality and quantity - for 15 pesos. The shops around are good to purchase gifts and souvenirs. I suppose they'd bargain too if you can. Other than that, there are many restaurants, eateries, and hotels around to roam. The park is heavily patrolled for some reason as we saw heavy police deployment with automatic weapons even on a seemingly regular day. Overall, very much...
