An interesting visit for those curious about cocoa and its history, but is not really worth the price (even if you can have a Valladolid resident price of 110$ if you’re staying in a hostel within town).
The narration and sequence of the different rooms sometimes lose itself between past and present so that it is not that clear what to understand from it. The most interesting part to me was the explanation of the cocoa culture nowadays rather than its history.
The idea of rooms with real size statues is great, but the langage speaker system is not really convenient if there are other people visiting when you are.

Really cool place for intermediate understanding of Cacao and its evolution. Although most of the information can be found via a quick Google search, they have created a beautiful visual and audio guide here along with merchandise to accompany. I was a bit sad to find out that there was no actual cacao drink here which I thought would have elevated the experience. Also, as someone who has been journeying with Spirit of Cacao for the last few years there was not much information regarding the traditional and ancestral connection of Cacao or cacao ceremony. 5:24 pm Entramos a Choco Story (Museo del Chocolate), definitivamente si vienen tienen que visitarlo, aquí si aceptan tarjeta de crédito, en prácticamente ningún lugar la aceptan, la entrada es de 140 pesos, Insen 110 y niños 75, el horario es de 09:00m a 7:30pm, ultima entrada a las 7:00pm, si presentas la llave de tu hotel te hacen el 20% de descuento al ingreso, así que pagamos un total de $220 por los dos.
Alfonso Briseño nos ingresó a la primer sala, nos explicó y nos dejó, continuáramos solos el recorrido, por todo el museo que es muy grande. Cada una de las Salas tiene un botón que al presionarlo, te cuenta la historia representada frente a tus ojos, con escenografía muy bien montada en cada área, un lugar que definitivamente recomiendo.
El Chocolate es un producto que nos encanta y es interesante conocer, la historia, los estados que producían o comerciaban con el cacao, entre sala y sala encontramos una pirámide en uno de los patios, aquí se instruye sobre la historia de la conquista y el gusto por el chocolate.
El lugar muy bonito, limpio, el área donde compramos los chocolates que se encuentra justo antes de salir, me encantó, techo a doble altura, colores elegantes, los chocolates exhibidos sobre enormes muebles de madera, dándoles un espacio que este producto merece.
Antes de salir a las 6:13 pm dejamos nuestro mensaje en un gran libro que tienen para visitantes, Alma Viajera con Arthur el amor de mi vida, por México.
salimos casi una hora después, compramos un par de chocolates, uno de chile maya y un chocolate amargo, la tienda de chocolates tiene infinidad de variedades y tamaños y presentaciones de este chocolate hecho en México, también tienen otros productos y souvenirs.
Mucho que decir, pero como bien saben, los invito a escribir su propia historia, hasta la próxima y buen viaje.
