Taqueria Mr. Taco — Restaurant in Valladolid

Its not a place to go for a romantic date night. The menu is short, it feels quite fast food and there is a traffic jam outside. Apart from that perfect. There is a huge taco al pastor skewer in front of a blazing heater, with the kebab master canstantly shaving the meat off. Swarms of people pass by to get takeaway and a few customers sat down to eat. We had 2 al pastor and bistec and a horchata. The al pastor was amazing so savoury, all i toped mine with was a squish of lime, the bistec was still good. We then had extra al pastor as they were so tasty. It really was the best so far. I know my tacos al pastor and this is NOT the place to go. Dry and tasteless meat and almost no garnishings -dont know what else to say. I even tried to drown it in salsa to get me some taste.

Contrast this with my meal the next day in mercado san benito in mérida where the tacos were literally half price and 50% more meat and garnish. I didnt even want to use salsa - i knew i found “the place”. Reminds me of tacos chupacabras from 20 years ago in DF.
