My worst experience. The pancake was seriously burnt, but they just placed it on the bottom. I thought the color was caused by the syrup, but it wasn't. It was "BITTER". I complained about it, but they didn't apologize but just made a puzzled face like "what's wrong with it?" I was really confused at that point. Is it uncommon to raise a complaint about a problem in Mongolia? If I hadn't asked for a replacement they would never have remade it. Furthermore, I am uncertain about the type of conversation they had in the kitchen, but they only took the burned part and returned it to me. I believe this is not a cheap café in Mongolia. The taste was nothing special compared to other small cafes. They really need to learn how to handle problems. Visiting this place was a waste of time.
This was not the only issue, as you may have thought. When I was ordering blueberry cream cheese bagel ,which was provided with drink (according to the menu), the employee didn't gave us enough information about it (when I asked). She was not a good English speaker but she looked like she was going to explain about it. However, 'Okay' was the only thing she said. I MEAN WHAT IS "OKAY". In my estimation, there is an employee who can speak English. If she couldn't explain it, she could ask for help. They were NOT even occupied. She made us order an extra drink. Gladly, I could get a refund before the order was made, but I hope there are no other victims like me.
(I couldn't take a picture of the burnt part, but I...
Read moreI’ve always enjoyed visiting this restaurant and even marked it as my favorite in my UB guide with a special note. However, my recent experience was disappointing. I ordered the chicken curry, but what I received was far from it—the chicken was dried, it had egg for some reason, and the sauce was more of a tomato and basil mix. When I brought this up to the staff, I was told that nothing could be done.
That evening, I spoke to the manager, but they tried to gaslight me by saying that different countries have different versions of dishes. While I understand variations, serving something completely different and calling it curry is misleading. I later reached out to the restaurant through DMs, but they left me on read without any reply, which made the situation even more frustrating.
Considering this cafe is more expensive compared to others in UB, I would expect much better service and responsiveness, especially for the price you’re paying. This experience has made me rethink my...
Read moreA real find. Great location, and I got a seat by a big window as the sun was streaming in. When I came in just after 08:00, I was the only person there. Very tastefully decorated, and exactly the right vibe of music being played. I had an egg and sausage bagel, which was very good and came with some very fresh lettuce and a tomato soup (which I thought was a bit strange for breakfast but there we are); tea came in a generous pot. I get the sense this place would be considered very cool by local standards and accordingly it is more expensive than many places in Mongolia - but I still thought the...
