Ciao Ciao, The Art of Cuisine — Restaurant in Ulaanbaatar

Went there for valentines dinner. I had originally booked for 4 people for 10pm but our group split up and just the two of us got there almost 40 minutes late. Regardless, they still had empty tables and seated us.

The waitress forgot our entire order, messed up our drinks. We got one drink much later after repeatedly asking for it. Theres only 7 tables in there so I don’t really understand why the service was that bad. The food took an hour and 20 minutes to come out, and even then it came out 10 minutes apart leaving one of us to sit there hungry. The mafioso pizza was all right, the mushroom pasta was over-salted and bland in flavor. We had only waited over an hour patiently because we read great food reviews and were really looking forward to it. It was so far below our expectations. Plus every time when asked about our food the waitress assured us it was coming out soon. The food came out at 12am, the place closes at 12am. They started tidying up, basically giving us 10 minutes to eat and get out.

When pointing out the insane long wait time to the man at the checkout (not sure if it was the chef) instead of an apology we got reprimanded for being late and basically got told to be grateful they even accepted us. Apparently they were closing their kitchen when we walked in- but we were never informed of this and were just greeted and seated. If they had told us the wait time on food would have been that long we would have found a different place or gone home.

We went there after our dinner to get some Aperol spritz because this one seems like quite a famous Italian restaurant in the area. However, the cocktail was not that good but overpriced compared to the value of service and product. The waiter first says We do not have Aperol spritz then looks over their counter and ah we can have. But It seems like they put leftover ice cubes because they look so small and melted quickly making the cocktail look ugly also they do not have oranges and it tastes like something is missing maybe an orange or they did not have some other ingredients as well. It’s a real food gem in UB. I loved every dish served! Was just mouth watering! And now they have draft dark Czech beer!!!!
