The reason for my high praise? L&M delivers a genuine Montenegrin culinary experience with a very good price, which is exactly what I seek when traveling. Why indulge in foreign cuisines like Italian pizza or Chinese wok when you can immerse yourself in the local flavors? As a Tunisian chef and a true fan of seafood and fish, I have had the chance to travel and dine in many places around the world, including France, Italy, and Croatia. I’m quite particular when it comes to seafood, but during my recent trip to Budva, Montenegro, I was completely amazed by the food at L&M Lazo Milano.

I visited this establishment with two friends, both of whom have worked in gastronomy, and we were all blown away by the quality of the food. The restaurant has a solid 4.6 rating on Google, and it did not disappoint. We started with an outstanding fish soup, served with an elegant service à la russe (or service au guéridon). Following that, we enjoyed a grilled mix of fish and seafood, and everything was incredibly fresh and delicious.

What made the experience even more memorable was not just the food, but the atmosphere. It felt like stepping into another time, with decor and ambiance that transported us to a different era. It wasn’t just a culinary journey but a travel experience through both space and time.

Incredibly delicious food. Can’t complain about that. Also the prices are so affordable However we experienced two totally different experiences with this place in just two days. First time we came here on Thursday evening it was the best experience possible. It was almost as if we were the only guests in the restaurant (it was pretty full) yet we received a private treatment. The staff were laughing, brining us extra olive, extra sauces etc. so nice and polite the whole evening. Unfortunately we experienced 180 degree change the next evening when we came back. The restaurant was again packed and we could the owners were in a rush and didn’t really pay attention to new customers walking in. We took a seat ourselves and waited really long to place an order. When the food came, one of the owner just threw all the plates on our tables, without saying anything, he looked very tired (understandable) but also very mean.
