We went here for a late lunch.
We had two beef tagines with bread and two fruit juices.
✅️Upon arrival, there was one waiter who was oblivious to us having turned up, so we had to get his attention to tell him we were sitting down, and then another waiter appeared with our menus. They were attentive thereafter 😊
✅️The waiter serving us didn't know very much English but tried his best. We made use of Google Lens again, which is smashing for browsing the menu.
❌️There were again a lot of 🪰 🪰🪰🪰indoor and outdoor, but we didn't fancy being around all the smokers, so we opted to be indoors.
✅️The food was pretty okay. The tagine had veggies like green beans, carrots, and potatoes with fried onions. It was fairly well flavoured and a sensible single serving that you can eat without sharing and a good amount of crusty bread on the side. The food didn't blow us away.
✅️The fruit juice was fresh and welcomed on a very hot day ☀️
✅️It was very quiet indoors - no music but small groups of people having a coffee and catchup.☕️
✅️Service was friendly with a smile.😊
✅️A nice pitstop near to the abattoir on your way to / from souk el had if you fancy the walk. There are some other small outlets like cafés along the way, too, but this looked the most spacious with plenty of seating and a reasonable price point too.
My advice is just as standard in Morocco, take a pot of citronella insect repellent with you everywhere. When at restaurants just open it up and pop it...
Read moreThe other day, after dinner, I was craving something sweet, so I decided to visit Home Cafe and try their desserts. They have a great variety of sweets, and I ended up choosing the pancakes with mango and Chantilly cream. The dish was very tasty. At first, it looked a bit small, but it turned out to be the perfect size for what I needed. The staff were very friendly, and the café had a nice ambiance and vibe. Plus, it’s well located, close...
Read moreBest place in town for breakfast! We ate here 5 out of 7 days. Fresh croissants, fresh juice and lovely coffee. Croissants served with Amlou, honey, butter and jam...absolutely delicious. The only down side is sitting outside and being bothered by kids wanting to shine your shoes, they don't take no for an answer and a very persistent begging for money. I felt sorry for them, but unable to give everyone of them money, I'd be...
