I chose this spot because of the amazing looking seafood grill platters online. However, it was quite a struggle to get this seafood.

The server I had gave me two menus. After attempting to order the grilled fish platter of the day, she informed me that this was not available anymore and insisted that I ordered off the menu with no grilled fish at all. I was initially surprised since the two tables beside me clearly ordered the grill fish that I was interested in. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and figured that they may have just run out of the fish (odd since it was only 2 pm). Since I was specifically interested in grilled fish, I decided to go somewhere else.....it was at this point that I was magically able to order off the grill menu like the other customers.

I was then asked if I wanted oysters which I was informed was 10 dhm a piece, which I happily ordered. Of note, when I went to pay, the price of the oysters magically changed to 15 dhm a piece.

After quite a long wait, the food finally came - but it was not the grilled fish platter....it was an item off the second menu that I was not interested in. Luckily, another server came over and fixed the situation...but it took me a long time to get the food that I see in the online reviews.

Overall, the food was pretty tasty and reasonably priced at the advertised values. However, I think your experience will greatly depend on who is working at the time you order. My server gave me an experience which very much reminds me of trying to buy items in the medina (i.e. they lie to you to see how much money they can get away with...

These people are extraordinary! I had crazy cravings for razor clams and clams but didn't want to go all the way to the center market in the evening across town. We called and tried to order both dishes with our very poor French, the owner was super attentive, patient and friendly. She even went to the market to see what she could get fresh at that moment and called us back. As the delivery guy didn't speak any English or French, we had trouble communicating with him. To our most incredible surprise, she came with him to make sure we get our food. How incredible is that!!!! Speaking of customer service, she wins the ultimate award!!!!! And the clams were super fresh, very juicy and the flavor perfectly balanced, most importantly which many restaurants don't do well it's that NONE of the clams had any sand in them, 10000 points to the chef! Such kind kind people who went above and beyond and who cooked the most perfect clams (beats any 5 star restaurant)!!! Thanks to the owners for a wonderful meal and your humanity warmed...

Don't you hate it when the restaurant people bum rush you and pressure you to eat at their establishment? I find that very irritating and often times scary. It's a turn-off for me, and I will always leave even if I saw something I liked on the menu. NOT here. We circled the market twice, and they just smiled as we walked by while every other restaurant pressured us to dine at their place. We almost gave up on the experience of buying our own seafood and having a restaurant cook it for us. My advice is always ask the fee to cook the food in advance and you'll be fine. Keep in mind that they don't only prepare and cook the fish, they also provide condiments and some vegetables with the plates. Chef and her sidekick Hakim were great hosts and gave us all the attention and space we needed to enjoy our meal. We'll be back tomorrow for lunch before our flight home.
