Our flight was changed by the airline late in the game, so we booked this hotel as a last minute addition to our trip.. all of the hotels booked were budget range so we are not expecting all the bells and whistles, just a simple room to stay that is free of pests.. and this is what this place was.. the hotel is very large, the elevator indicated 10 floors.. we were given a room on the 7th floor (75) m, which had partial water views from their balcony.. The shower curtain was not as wide or as long as the open side of the shower, so water got everywhere each time we used it.. breakfast was not included with our suite, so we opted to pay to add it, it was 7 euros per person and included a make to order omelette. A couple bread items were stale and some were fresh.. made us question the freshness of the sausage and cheeses, so we just avoided those.. booking.com had a note saying that the note may or may not charge us a ‘city tax’.. we were charged this, it was approx $5 USD ( not exactly sure of the exact amount but not too bad) for 2 rooms. I was expecting worse as the pics online make the place look really stuffy and dusty, but it was bright and the beds that we got didn’t have the crusty looking lace frill. There was a person that was constantly cleaning the lobby, there was an elevator and a very diligent porter.. it was just ok.. I would try and look for somewhere else at the same price point if looking for a budget stay, if possible.. the place just seems impersonal for some reason.. but it’s still ok to consider as a budget option. After 1 night, we moved to Ryad 91, which we much preferred...
Read moreI had just toured the other Moroccan cities of Fes and Marrakech for 6 days. I chose Hotel Moroccan House on price alone. It's not fancy or posh, but it gets the job done. I simply needed a place in Casablanca for a night or two before catching my flight out. I walked from Casa Voyageurs to the hotel. It took about 25-30 minutes. It wasn't until I arrived that I realized I could have taken the Casa Tram. The Casa Tram charges a flat fee of 70 or 80MAD (depending on which ticket option you choose). You can take it to La Gare Mohammed Dyouri, which is a 3 minute walk from the hotel.
The room was decorated with some traditional-looking artwork, a canopy bed and furnished with a fridge, safe and TV. The mattress was comfortable, but the worst part were the pillows. They had 3 pillows in total. 2 of the pillows matched the duvet cover, so I was convinced those were for decoration only. The last pillow was a long, thin pillow (kind of like a fat snake) that was the width of the bed. The diameter of the pillow wasn't large enough to fully fit your head. However, the pillow diameter wasn't small enough to just fit underneath my neck. I even tried folding it in half without any luck.
Besides the pillow fiasco, my other least favorite part of the room was the shower. The bathtub was elevated by at least a foot, making it very difficult and dangerous to enter/exit the shower. Additionally, the shower only had a half fixed wall, so the bathroom floor was always covered in water when I got out of the shower. Like I said, it wasn't fancy, but I was able to get a quiet...
Read moreI would like to share my experience. I booked by mistake on 14th of June instead of 14th of May. It was non refundable and non adjustable booking. I called them straight away and someone told me: yes, please come. There is no issue. We have rooms.
I came late around 10pm and there was a reservation manager Saeed. He told me: I heard you have an issue with booking. I said: yes, and I called and spoke to someone. He said: you know, we can’t provide you with room, you need to pay again for tonight. I said: I would love to cancel my future stay and pay for tonight. But you already charged me for 14th of June, that’s why I called. He was absolutely not flexible. At some point, he just left. Left me alone in the middle of Riad. And when I asked reception guy, is he coming back. He said: I don’t think so. It’s 11pm. I ended up without room in the middle of Casablanca, which is not safe. I understand, I booked by mistake, but I called and they could tell me that straight away.
It is very unprofessional to leave customers like this. Even reception guy told me that they have available room, but he can’t do anything.
I been traveling to 50+ countries, I have never seen manager to leave like this....
