The old Café de France was beautifully renovated and is now called Café Place de France, facing the fountain and directly on the Place de France.
The café is attractive outside and inside. There are comfortable chairs and a simple and modern décor, with tall ceilings, three televisions, marble floors and a mezzanine level where the modern toilets are located.
I have enjoyed many coffees sitting inside the main café area with views out to the Place de France. There are a variety of delicious and reasonably-priced breakfasts, croissants and cakes.
The WiFi at the Café Place de France is usually strong. Just ask your waiter for the passcode.

Read morePeople here are crazy! I wanted to use my battery powered laptop with my own wifi to answer an urgent email and the waiter ordered me to close the laptop or leave. I chose to leave and never come back again. BTW the Cafe was empty at that time of the morning, so there was no risk to occupy their table and make them lose customers if I had stayed longer with my laptop....
