Read moreI was v excited for this but it was a big letdown for our last night in Morocco. The place is small and the service very fast to the extent that nothing is explained, introduced or offered. Fine that it’s a set menu but some service appreciated… firstly the food which was good overall, especially loved the toasted nuts. The fish soup was alright - everything is a bit off putting when you’re eating it off a soaking wet wooden spoon…) the second course was a sizzling fish dish (not sure what, wasn’t told) was okay but really lacking some salt (none on any tables and you were made to feel like you couldn’t ask for it). The main was a fillet of swordfish and skate (I think, again, not introduced) - however until the end we assumed were the same so we didn’t try each others fish. The dessert was fine, pomegranate raspberry and then a deconstructed baklava-Esque dish. The drink I think was grape or pomegranate juice. The bread that each table had differed, some had the nice flaky bread and soft white but we just got the standard brown which was a shame. Tiny bottles of water, no big or fizzy water on offer. The owner (older guy) has clearly got to the stage where his restaurant is very popular and thinks he doesn’t need to invest any effort into providing a service, which contrary to every single other Moroccan restaurant we ate at over our 10 days in Morocco was such a shame as their hospitality is usually what leaves such a lasting impression. We ate at two other restaurants whilst in Tangier which were both half the price and twice as good. Wouldn’t bother...
Read moreThis place was spectacular. The moment you enter the little building, you are welcome with a cozy room decorated with pottery and beautiful paintings. It had so much character and you immediately felt like a local! When you sit down, you get a view of the kitchen and get to see where all the magic happens. The first course was an array of delicious appetizers: bread, olives, a lovely sauce, and a medley of nuts. They also serve you a homemade juice that was to die for. The second course was a delicious fish soup, followed by a heavenly seafood platter, and the main course consisted of three different types of fish cooked to perfection. To top it off, we got dessert at the end--fresh berries and the second dessert dish was a granola dish with fresh honey on top (I wish I remembered the name because I still think of it).
The staff was friendly, professional, and efficient. The plate settings and utensils gave this place a cozy feel. If you look close, you will realize there is so much thought and love that went into making this place. There is a little bit of a wait outside the building because the restaurant is small and can only fit a small number of people at a time, but the wait is totally worth it. You will never regret it! And once you are on your table, the service is spectacular and the food is divine. You have to visit this place whenever you...
