Al Achab is a wonderful seafood restaurant in the tangier morroco Medina.
We were there at 3 pm on a Sunday in February and were seated immediately. Our table overlooked the kasbah wall and marina.
Service was friendly and prompt. Server did not speak a lot of English but between some English, French and google translate - it worked out. Restaurant was clean and there was a handwash station in the dining room. There are several stairs from street level to dining room.
Menu is pre fixe at 180 dh per/person. Cash only.
Started with olives, mixed nuts, Harrisa, Fresh bread and tea. Next course was a delicious soup with seafood in a hearty stock - perhaps Harira? Next was a very tasty mixed seafood tagine on what appeared to be a bed of greens (like spinach) that also incuded 2 skewers with grilled fish ( maybe shark) . Main was 2 meaty charcoal roasted and very Flavorful fishes. Last course was chopped nuts over a grain ( like couscous ) with honey and fresh strawberries.
Only suggestion would be to provide a menu of what was to be served so guests could know what was coming, variety of fish, and cost.
Very good service, great food, generous portions, wonderful view and vibe. Quality experience and Very good value....

On offer is a pre-fix (pre-set, flat-priced) menu for 160 Dirhams per person (about $17.50 USD) which will take you on a marvelous seafood journey. The menu will change with the seasons, but on the occasion of our visit in September, 2021, we were treated to a fish soup, followed by tagine with sword fish, shrimp, and sea bream alongside herbed spinach, then a whole grilled fish which was also magnificently seasoned with fresh herbs and spices, and ended with a dessert of fresh melon and a blend of crushed nuts drizzled in honey. As accompaniments, you'll receive fresh Moroccan bread, olives, harissa (a spicy sauce), and a pitcher of juice made from figs, raisins, plums, and aromatic spices.
Staff are friendly and welcoming, seating was comfortable, and the eclectic décor and lovely mosaic tile set...
Read moreMy wife and I ate here today, 24/10/24. Food is served as a set menu. We got 1 menu to share as there’s a fair amount of food. Understandably the restaurant offers the option to add another bowl of fish soup for those that wish to share the menu. The fish soup with barley was very tasty and filling and served piping hot from a caldron. Next came prawns, white fish and squid pieces served on a bed of chopped spinach which was also very tasty. Next they served a skewer of tuna and some grilled white fish and herbs that was grilled to perfection. We were also served nuts, bread, olives and the very spicy red paste. A jug of fruit juice is also included in the menu. A plate of chopped almonds with barley and honey and a plate of pomegranate seeds and honey is served for dessert. Apparently this is a meal served in the Rif region and was thoroughly enjoyable. A short walk down from Cafe La Espanola just off the Main Rd. Price was a very reasonable 260MAD (26€) for the whole meal, including 2x lemon...
