Restaurant des Rêves — Restaurant in Essaouira

Recently went here for lunch. Two friends ordered calamari and I ordered beef. Before the waiter left the table, I changed from beef to goat. So, three tajines: a super simple order.

We were the only three in the restaurant yet it took a long time for the food to arrive. They made 1 calamari, 1 beef, 1 lamb...in other words, screwed up the order.

Instead of just apologizing and correcting the issue, the waiter insisted upon arguing with us saying we were the ones who had caused the order to be wrong, not him. This is Morocco...where the majority of local businesses would rather eat dirt than simply admit they made a mistake and correct it. This complete refusal to display any common courtesy - or customer service - gets very old, very quickly.

The food was good...the atmosphere and decor were average...the service was horrible. We won't be returning. I cannot recommend...

Terrible experience, do not go here.

Food was ok but the music was a very painful experience. The band came up behind me and started smashing cymbals together right next to my ears. I’ve now been left unable to hear properly in my right ear and in pain, will have to see a doctor.

Regardless the music was also too loud for us to talk through so our party just sat in an uncomfortable silence until we had finished eating.

This should never have happened.

Avoid this restaurant under all...

We came across this restaurant by accident, when we came to Essaouria late night and this was one of the few open places. From the entry waiter was very kind and he brought us to the highest flor where was the concert with traditional music. Waiter recommended us fresh sea food with surprise from kitchen master which was wonderful. We also ate pasta with shrimp which also was delicious. Staff was incredibly kind and it was a pleasure to be there. Highly...
