Awful, terrible place. Now seeing the bad reviews I can really understand. I can’t write here the real word to describe our waitress- let’s just say she was nasty and outrageous. From the moment we sat down we both had a horrible feeling from her just cold and rude manner. Then she served me meat when I ordered falafel . Argued when I told her it was the wrong order, didn’t apologize, rudely pulled everything away then just as rudely came back a long time after with the “correct” order that seemed to be a frozen falafel patty slightly heated in a microwave or something. Tasteless and again just awful. Even before that the salad was disgusting. Sweet and something with 2 tiny pieces of almost invisible cheese though was meant to be salad with feta. Back to the waitress. She never checked in but rather stood laughing with her colleagues. When we asked to speak to the manager they tried to be sweet but said oh the waitress doesn’t speak English but we had spoken French to her and even pointed at the menu . And this manager was one of the people the waitress had been laughing with the whole time. They also put us off to the side including putting my very tall husband on the only tiny wooden chair . They said the other tables were reserved meanwhile nobody took those tables in 2-3 hours. AVOID. Nothing special to see here. The show was fine but not great and just not worth it. *seeing other reviews it’s likely the restaurant will reply here and try to claim this is false but it’s all real and just ruined the evening and tarnishes the view of visitors here...
Read moreWe had a pretty mediocre experience. It was recommended by friends of ours to go when in Marrakesh. We chose this establishment over another one offering a traditional Moroccan entertainment experience for a similar price point. Upon arriving at 8:30pm when the entertainment was set to start, we were 1 of only 2 parties and the place was empty. The entertainment was disappointing. There was about 20 minutes of live music (very repetitive drumming and guitar) and the remaining hour and a bit that we stayed was just a DJ playing western music. The appetizers were good but the mains were not very good. We left after 1.5 hours because the entertainment didn’t become more interesting. This was a very overpriced “experience” and based on our experience, we felt it was a tourist trap. The service was good though, maybe because we were one of the only tables there. Although, not even 2 minutes after paying the bill, we were sitting at our table waiting for our ride, and the waiter came over to clear, wipe and re-set the table while we were still sitting there. We felt very uncomfortable like we were being rushed out! There is absolutely no need for this, as I stated before, we were 1 of only 2 tables in the...
Read moreLove. Love. Love the decor. The food - not so much. The drinks were prepared well. I wanted to like this place more but the food fell flat and the audio when people were singing was not balanced. The music in between sets was great. It's obviously louder the closer you are to the music... there is also a room up and back to the left if you want a quieter setting. Loved the gnawa and belly dancers were entertaining. We went on a Sunday around 830p.
The atmosphere is fantastic. I would say this is a great place to get a drink or dessert and stay out...enjoy the shows. They have a full bar menu and mocktails. I dont know that I recommend the food based on my experience. A lot of people were ordering tagine. I was curious on how they prepared their rfissa. As someone who loves rfissa - I found it to be lacking. The salmon on on the pizza also was a little off. Everyone working that we encountered was friendly... there were some miscommunications at the end.
Overall its a good experience. The gnawa was probably my favorite part. The belly dancers got everyone going at the end of the night.
Give it a try - it might have been...
