TOURISTS BEWARE – AVOID CONTOBAR IN MARRAKECH AT ALL COSTS ⚠️

I don’t usually leave reviews, but what we experienced last night at Contóbar was so shocking, disrespectful, and downright disgusting, I feel it’s my duty to warn others before they fall into the same trap.

I had only been once before, with a group of British friends. The moment they assumed I was also British, they started overcharging us for every single drink. There was no menu, no prices listed , just inflated numbers pulled out of thin air. To them, a tourist is just a walking ATM, and they’ll take as much as they can before you even realize it.

But the real reason I’m writing this review is because of the manager , hands down the rudest, most arrogant, most vile person I’ve ever seen running a business !

This man has zero respect for people, especially locals. I personally witnessed him yell at and humiliate a group of Moroccan guests, simply because they were dressed casually. They weren’t drunk, loud, or disturbing anyone , they were simply sitting at their table, minding their own business. And he publicly cursed at them and threw them out. It was abusive, unnecessary, and honestly heartbreaking to watch, this tells a lot about the person ! That moment told me everything I needed to know,this is not a place of culture or class , it’s a place run by someone who judges your worth by your clothes and your wallet. No soul, no respect, no shame.

Don’t trust the fake reviews either. They literally offer “free” shots in exchange for 10/10 reviews, and then charge you for it anyway. It’s a scam built on lies, plain and simple.

Contóbar is not about hospitality. It’s about ego, money, and fake glamour. If you value your dignity, your money, and your experience in Marrakech , spend your night anywhere else. There are plenty of incredible, welcoming places in this city. This is not one of them.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting my this place, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was lively and welcoming, setting the perfect tone for an evening of fun and laughter.

The karaoke setup was top-notch, with an impressive selection of songs that catered to all tastes. My family and I spent hours singing our hearts out, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the night.

The food was equally spectacular—every dish we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Whether you’re a foodie or just looking for a great meal to accompany your night out, this place delivers on all fronts.

Upon entering, a big giant man asked for my backpack. I was a little worried but it was the actual security and he kept my bag in a safe place! So thanks for that

I entered the dark lounge, I was saw tons of people dancing to someone singing Shaggy's 'Wasn't Me." That put a smile to my face knowing my people in this part of the world get down to Shaggy! Drink price are definitely in the expensive side, but grab one or 2 max to enjoy your time! They had a bunch of Arabic and French selections so you will be exposed to other beautiful music. When everyone was up in the dance floor, one of the waitresses invited me to dance so that made me feel welcomed! It sucks not many people spoke English but I had a fun time during the time I was there.
