Portofino Restaurant — Restaurant in Marrakesh Prefecture

14th March 2021, Bad service, clients are treated with little to no respect... would not recommend. I was there with my parents. The view from the coffee seemed really nice so we decided to sit for a tea/juice. Since I was a bit sick from a lunch that didn't sit well in my stomach, I didn't feel like having anything and I already had my bottle of water but my parents orders equivalent of 80dhs, which for non alcoholic drinks for 2 people, is on the expensive side... The bad experience started when the waiter refused to take our order stating that each one of us should order something... He refused to listen and it seemed like he was putting an ultimatum... I shouldn't feel like someone is obliging me to order anything, against my own will... If I don't want to have something at that moment but people with me are still ordering, that shouldn't be an issue ! Even the best restaurants and coffees in the city aren't applying this (sh*tty) policy. We left and went to another coffee, which didn't mind me not ordering... Note : the coffee wasn't busy at all..nothing could justify this kind of behavior...

Walked by this place a few times on the way home from the Medina and was eager to give it a try, as I’ve been craving some Italian food after having my fill of local dishes (although tagines can be great). Finally the stars aligned for us to try here one night. We arrived at 10pm (they close at midnight), we tried to order literally 5 different things on the menu and were told they didn’t have it. We ended up getting the meat ravioli and a chicken & eggplant parmesan. We were so disappointed! It took 40 minutes for the food to come out and it came out cold. Don't think I've experienced a more unwelcoming restaurant ever. We went in and it was as if they didn't even want us there! Was such a weird experience. We ordered desserts because we weren't hungry for mains. The waiter was very cold and didn't smile. To be fair the crepe was pretty good however my issue was the service itself. The whole place seemed quite negative. after a while there were literally no waiters in site.. I literally had to get and find someone to give us the bill.
