100m away from Chez Lamine and much better food. True, there's no mechoui, but the beef tangia at Ouazzani is the best I've had in Morocco.

Fall-off-the-bone tender meat (with all of boneless lean, on the bone and tendons), with hints of cinnamon, turmeric and a spice that gives it a greenish tint (I will figure it out when going home), preserved lemon rind and discreet burnt bits all combined in a perfect assault of tastes and contrasting textures.

There's also the Entree Mixte, which is basically a plateau of mostly aubergine-based dips, hummus and tabbouleh, which came in really handy given the amount of meat we were served. I should mention the garlic mayo, which was a proper Lebanese toum - which I adore - to make both potato chips and the eggplants more interesting.

We had some lamb skewers, but I was far from impressed (I think they may have been overcooked or diced too small).

I remembered to take a photo about 5 minutes into eating, so some of the food was gone.

I cannot deduct anything from the 5 stars on the food, simply because of that Heaven-inspired tangia, although there is room for improvement - e.g. the lamb, the harissa, etc.

The atmosphere was nothing fancy, regular terrace half full around 6, mostly locals. Place was clean, and the menu is printed on the paper table sheets, with a proper receipt at the end (in French, but that is not a problem).

Table full of food for 2, water and tea came in at ~230 MAD....

I have just come out to here after reading the reviews on this site and I must say what a pleasure it was to eat and experience the atmosphere. As I have always said " if it's good enough for the locals, it's good enough for me". I had a mixed salad with tuna, fries, a bottle of coke max and grilled liver, all this with saucer sized bread rolls and 3 dips (lentil, bean and aubergine) for just 72dhs (£6). Dans les avis consultés, on parlait d’un accueil sympa et du personnel agréable, pas de chance, nous sommes probablement tombé sur le seul antipathique de l’équipe, ou alors il était très contrarié ce soir là. Nous avons pris 4 plats car les portions ne sont pas géantes et on avait très faim ( Grillades garnies, saucisse de foie, cervelle d’agneau sautée aux oignons et tajine de foie de veau) et deux bouteilles d’eau (car ils ne servent pas de vin) et ce n’est réellement pas cher. Le pain est bon, les accompagnements également pour les grillades. Pas d’accompagnement sur les autres plats mais c’était correctement servi. Vous pouvez prendre une portion de frites ou de riz si besoin. 162 dirhams. Soit environ 16€ à 3. Les plats étaient bien cuisinés. Nous voulions un dessert et un thé à la menthe mais avons abandonné l’idée car le serveur, appelé deux fois gentiment, n’est jamais revenu prendre la commande et nous avons attendu 20 mn puis encore 30 mn pour finalement régler l’addition. Ils sont ouverts jusque minuit. Terrasse sur rue assez grande, salle à l’intérieur. Tant que vous ne tomberez pas sur notre serveur à la mine patibulaire et grognon, vous serez certainement satisfait. Très bon rapport qualité prix. Si vous prenez un taxi, ne pas prendre ceux qui sont garés devant le Monte Christo, bar Lounge à la mode qui se trouve au carrefour un peu plus bas dans la rue, car ils haussent les prix x 10. On avait 500 m à faire avec une personne âgée et il demandait 100 Dh, un taxi de passage nous a proposé de donner ce qu’on voulait. Ça valait 10, on a donné 30 Dh parce qu’il était...
