Our time at Cantine Mouton Noir was pretty good. The food and desserts we ordered lived up to the positive reviews we'd read. The place was clean, but the service could use a bit of improvement.

We tried a bunch of starters - Chicken Finger, Ravioli de Boeuf, and Fenouil Teriyaki. Ravioli stole the show with its unexpectedly rich and flavorful taste. Fenouil Teriyaki was tasty, but it seemed like the fenouil got a bit lost in the frying, and I'm not sure about pairing it with yogurt sauce. Still, we enjoyed it. Chicken Fingers were not as good as the others, a bit over-fried and lacking flavor. However, the pickled onions and carrot salad combo saved them.

We didn't dive into the main courses but opted for the beef burger. It didn't quite match the high bar set by the starters. The caramelized onions were a miss, the burger patty was just okay, and I couldn't figure out what the sauce with the fries was supposed to taste like. The standout was the burger bread, though.

For a sweet ending, we went for the Crème De Chocolat, and it was a winner. The mousse and chocolate crème were well-balanced, making it a must-try.

Service was just okay - probably due to being short-staffed. One person was multitasking between serving and handling bills, and it showed a bit in their interactions with customers.

On the upside, the place was impressively clean, from the kitchen to the dining area, and even the restroom.

The interior decor, while not mind-blowing, showed some effort. It felt a bit like a work in progress but didn't bother us much.

A couple of downsides: no vegan options on the menu, parking, and not handicap accessible.

I'd recommend it and might give their main courses a shot on a...

What a great spot! We came as a family of four and were warmly welcomed and ushered onto a comfy table. There are no English menus, but apps are a wonderful thing these days. We tried the fennel with shrimp, Bavette (flank steak ), beef burger and the salmon. Finishing with the chocolate mousse for desert. Portions are not overwhelming and perhaps we should have added the beef ravioli to the mix. The steak was superb, although shame they didn’t have the only other steak on offer Cote de Bouf (rib eye) which is priced per weight and would have offered a larger serving for the hubby. What the Bavette lacked in size it made up in its precision cooking and the brilliant buttery sauce! We were supposed to share but I got a small look in as I saw it being devoured with speed. Salmon was crunchy, perhaps a touch over my preference but still moist. My son has declared this the best burger he has ever had, not sure I can add more to that big call and although he is only 9, he has eaten his fair share of burgers. The Japanese inspired teriyaki fennel, on top a rich yogurt sauce and topped with crumbed fried shrimp was an eclectic combo, but each part was lovely and we ‘licked’ the bowl clean. The dessert was a wonderful end to the meal, just sweet enough without making the little one (3 yo) bounce of the walls who did declare it was ‘soo good’. Service was kind, but overwhelmed at times, juggling the food/drinks and the very international clientele. Perhaps another pair of hands would easy the busy spots. Kitchen team was on fire, not missing a beat! Overall we would for sure come back to try the other dishes and of course for the...

We had a lovely dinner at Cantine Mouton Noir and were really impressed with the food and ambiance. We ordered the beef burger and the filet de dorade, and both dishes were great.

The beef burger was juicy and full of flavor, cooked just right with a nice sear on the outside. The bun was soft but held everything together well, and the toppings added a perfect balance of freshness and richness. The filet de dorade was equally impressive—tender, flaky, and beautifully seasoned. It came with a light, flavorful sauce that complemented the fish without overpowering it.

But the real surprise was the fries—they were absolutely amazing! Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. You could tell they were freshly made and not your average side dish.

The atmosphere was cozy and modern, with a nice blend of casual and chic. The staff was friendly and attentive without being intrusive, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable.

Definitely a spot I’d recommend if you’re in Marrakech and looking for a place with great food...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mouton Noir, a restaurant located in Gueliz, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. I ordered the beef burger accompanied by the most delicious and flavorful potatoes, all for the reasonable price of 125 Dirhams. The meal was served promptly and remained warm from the kitchen to the table, highlighting the restaurant's commitment to serving freshly prepared dishes. To satisfy my sweet tooth, I indulged in the heavenly triple chocolate dessert priced at 60 Dirhams. Each bite was a delightful explosion of rich chocolate flavors that left me craving more. The service at Mouton Noir was exemplary, with the staff exhibiting a genuinely friendly and welcoming demeanor. They were attentive to every detail, ensuring that I had a memorable dining experience. The ambiance of the restaurant is both charming and cozy. The simplicity of the decor, combined with the cleanliness and ample brightness, creates a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. It's a place where you can truly relax and enjoy your meal.
