Andy's Sushi, Oyster and Fine Seafood Restaurant — Restaurant in Erongo Region

So, we were a group of 9 people who went to Andy's for lunch. I was sceptical to go after some stories I've heard about this joint, but decided to go and experience it first hand and form my own opinion. Well, I'm afraid I have to concur with the negative reviews I've heard. The location is quite nice, but I'm afraid there it stops. I couldn't decide between prawns and a combo of prawns and calamari. I asked the waitress How many prawns there are in the combo. She wasn't sure, but said she think it's about six prawns and six calamari rings! When I received the N$215 dish, I was dismayed to discover that the "prawns" were actually shrimps served with some calamari in a medium sized bowl - great for a starter, but a BIG no-no as a main. Suffice it to say, that was my first, but last visit to Andy's. VERY DISAPPOINTED!! Fishy Corner in Henties...

Terrible first experience Ordered sushi and got told 10 mins later there’s no rice and that they don’t know how long it’ll take for them to cook rice. Waitress then proceeded to say that the pot is also broken. Asked her to tell us how long it’ll take once they do happen to know. She never came back. Had to call a different waitress to get her to come back. Ordered 2 steaks, 1 medium rare and the other medium well. Instead we got a medium well and a well done steak. The medium well steak didn’t even go to the person that ordered medium well One person ordered a sushi platter and I ordered 8 pieces of sushi. For some odd reason my 8 pieces of sushi got put onto the same plate as the platter. Only a few mins after bringing the platter we were told that the 2 orders were mixed.

I have now been to Andy's a few times since we found this place at the start of the year. We have tried various seafood dishes. Whilst the food is a little more expensive than other places in Swakopmund, we have never been disappointed in the quality of the food that we have received. It is has always been up there with the best in Swakop / Walvis.

The quality and friendliness of the staff has similarly always been as good as it can get.

The only downside is that, due to the size and design of the place, it can feel a bit over crowded and it can be hard to hear what your fellow diners are saying if there are too many people chatting away in there.
