Bad Experience with food.
Overall ambience of the restaurant was really chill with the music and the view of the Boudha Stupa . Staff and service were below average for me. The kitchen reeked as I proceeded to use the bathroom once, not the usual smell of a restaurant kitchen.
Walked into Luma restaurant with high hopes on a rainy Thursday evening with a few friends to try the bao buns and ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice and Tantanmen Ramen as the weather was calling. The bao buns were average to my liking; the pork inside the bun was so small, it literally tasted of peanuts and sweet sauce. The chicken bao buns were better with the spicy sauce that complimented the dish. Bao Buns - 3/5
One of my friends ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice and his review was disappointing. Upon tasting the dish, I found that it was dry and tasted bland, nothing like a regular kimchi fried rice. The dish looked and tasted really simple, that you could literally replicate it at home. Kimchi Fried Rice - 2/5
Moving onto the Tantanmen Ramen, it was a pretty sad experience. Although the looks of the dish was appealing, the taste of it was utterly disappointing. The broth? Thick, oily and slightly bitter. The noodles? thick and bland. The soft-boiled eggs were cold by the time it arrived to the table. The minced meat looked like someone took a huge dump on the side and it tasted cold and awful. The worst thing on that dish for me was the bokchoy (vegetables)... I have never been served uncut bokchoy in my life but that was a first for me. By the way, the seaweed wrap was missing in the dish. Tantanmen Ramen - 1/5
With the restaurant being promoted by a popular food vlogger in Nepal, I was hoping for a good experience. However, I realized that the individual is a sell-out, doing promotions and leaving good reviews for money who my friends also later messaged me about.
Overall experience at Luma Restaurant,...
Read moreI had seen a lot of posts about this place on social media and decided to give it a try with my friend. To be honest it was a 3.5/5 experience for me. The rooftop seating was nice. The service was okay-ish not that great. The food took a long time to arrive. We ordered the cold chicken noodles and chicken Katsu bao. The food was delicious. The chicken noodle was delectable. The katsu bao was amazing as well. However the drinks were not good at all. We ordered a lemon iced tea and a coconut drink. The lemon iced tea has a weird sickly sweet taste, could hardly taste the lemon. Not good at all. The coconut drink did not taste like coconut at all for some reason. It tasted like cucumbers instead, might have been a mix up. The prices was reasonable enough for the food. Overall, the food was great but the service might need some polishing for it to be a...
Read moreLuma restaurant was a place i had found wayyyy back when scrolling on instagram. They had what seemed like good food and good ambience. I never got to visit luma back then, but recently me and some of my friends went there hoping to have good food and good view. Needless to say i was dissapointed, the waiters weren't friendly, the food wasnt good and the view wasnt half as bad but it wasnt that good. I ordered wonton, ramen and some fries. I wanted to try the bao but they told me they didnt have it. That is the sole reason i went there for the baos. But i tasted the wonton. It wasnt bad but it wasnt worth the price. Everything i had was over priced. I dont know the reason for this. I wouldnt recommend anyone to visit here if they want a bang for a buck. There are alot of better restaurants who serve good food at a...
