Team 5 Nepal paragliding — Attraction in Pokhara

Among the 50 odd Paragliding service providers in lake city of Pokhra, Team 5 leads the pack for its professional services. We were fortunate to be accommodated at the last minute since there are only 2 slots, the booking for which has to be made in advance, when the flights are conducted on any given day.

Before the flight, my friend and I were quite jittery and nervous, perhaps, because it was our first time in the air hanging on to a parachute. But the friendly pilots provided us with some much needed reassurance about a safe and peaceful ride.

Rabindra dai and Shankar dai were assigned as our Pilots. Rabindra has been flying since 2009 and Shankar since 2004. Both of them have flying experience of over 2500+ flights. The experience in general was fantastic but my pilot made my experience not so great. Asking if me (and my friend) want to hang out after the session before we even had started to fly is not professional (save it to after if you have to) but what made me really uncomfortable was that he called me baby all the time during our flight. Extremely unprofessional! The guy even once lay his hand on my thigh in the car on our way back from the flight. I paid a lot of money for this experience and the pilot took away a lot of the good feeling in the air and made me not able to enjoy the view and feeling as much.

I had the longer tandem flight with Sundeep as the pilot. Nothing negative to point out. The flight was around 45 minutes. Some pictures and video was taken by Sandeep, I was also given the stick with gopro (provided by team5) to take some video during the flight as I wished, and of the final acro.

The short final acrobatics part was a very nice "bonus".

I've never felt uncomfortable or afraid during the flight.
