Bagels & Beans Ruyschstraat — Restaurant in Amsterdam

The local Bagels&Beans in our neighbourhood. Unfortunately the service has gradually become worse and worse: Waiting an age to get waiting staff’s attention. Incorrect and forgotten orders. 30+ minute wait times for simple sit down orders. This all may be understandable during busy periods but not when the store is almost completely empty.

Worse of all, I feel, is the consistent negligence in clearing tables. The past two visits I’ve sat next to tables overflowing with dirty dishes and glasses - not cleared or cleaned for the hour or so I was there. Again, during relatively quiet periods where the multiple staff members working the shift have the time to delegate and tend to the horeca fundamentals. This isn’t the greatest atmosphere, especially when grabbing a bite to eat with a loved one or family.

I’ve given up trying to communicate this to the staff because they’re either apathetic or indifferent to the feedback. Sad to see it get to this point after coming here for almost 4 years, but I don’t think I’ll ever be coming back again. As the old adage goes - vote with your wallet - and indeed, there are other places in the neighbourhood where my money could be...

Previously, I have had great experiences at Bagels & Beans, however today it was quite bad. I had not been to Bagels & Beans in a while and had good memories of it, very loaded and good tasting bagels that took maximum 10 minutes to make based on how busy it was. Today it was quite the oposite, The food we had ordered took around 30 minutes to get to our table. To make 3 bagels in 30 minutes is quite ridiculous, especially considering there were 6 people working behind the counter. To add insult injury the bagels were primarily bread and very little toppings which was dissapointing as they cost 7,50 a bagel. I was very dissapointed with this experience at Bagels & Beans and makes me ask what went wrong over time. I miss the good old Bagels & Beans and not this...

The food is very nice, but the customer service is a bit lacking. At every other B&B we've been, you sit down and someone comes to take your order. When we entered here, none of the staff greeted or even looked at us. We sat down and waited about 15 minutes, but no one came to take out order, so i ended up going to the counter. While ordering the staff seemed verry distracted and kind of rushed through it. The wait for the food wasn't bad it was done in about 10 minutes.
