Pizzeria Magna — Restaurant in Amsterdam

I had dinner here, and the experience was disappointing. The pizza was correct but I’ve had much better in Amsterdam. I also found the extra mozzarella overpriced at €3.50 for a very small quantity.

Service was the main issue. There was a 15-minute gap between the first and last pizza being served, so the first person had to eat cold food. One friend received the wrong pizza and was not offered a replacement. I also noticed a small fly on our table. Later, I saw the waiter cleaning another table and resetting it while placing the glasses upside down—the same side customers drink from.

Worst of all, they refused to split the bill, even though it would have been a simple subtraction. As a result, one friend had to pay for the entire table. We don’t all have unlimited money, and I can’t imagine what would have happened if one person couldn't cover the full bill. The waiter was probably just lazy. Decent food, but terrible service. I will not be...

Poor experience. We called for a reservation of 6 people and since we had had drinks and bar snacks at Bar Bouche first, and my parents were both fasting that evening, we ordered 3 pizzas among the 4 of us and the result was that the chef / owner weirdly pointed out an index finger to us and asked us to leave if we were only ordering 3 pizzas. I explained that we were 4 of us eating and my parents were visiting and on a fast they only wanted to give us company while we ate, but he refused to serve us pizzas saying it is a ‘small’ order. I think the next time if they reserve a table for 6 they should probably ask the people before sitting that they need a minimum invoice of €150. Customer service negative. When my brother said he will stay here till the pizza comes since it’s a family outing and we were hungry at 8 pm, the chef got physical and started pushing us away. I mean.. what an appalling experience I had....

Reasonably priced and lovely atmosphere!

The music played however was loud and really not relaxing at all. Felt like we were trying to be kicked out. We were also abruptly told upon arrival (9.05pm) that they would be closing at 10, not so much as a hello. We felt rushed. But the pizza was delicious and the interior of the restaurant is cosy. Also €12 for a properly authentic Margherita is great in this city. However, don’t make the mistake we made with the truffle pizza and assume it comes with tomato (was still nice, but too dry for €18 with no sauce base)

Main thing that let this place down for us was the service! But maybe if you are a regular they are nicer, as it seems family run and a pretty...
