Benji's — Restaurant in Amsterdam

One of the worst brunch experiences ever. I understand many restaurants are currently understaffed, but that doesn’t justify such bad service. When requesting for the croissant for our daughter before our order as she was hungry, we were told that it was not possible because the kitchen was busy and the croissant still had to be baked. I highly doubt croissants are being baked on the spot, and the cold croissant we finally received together with our order proved that. As our daughter was done with sitting in the babychair, because our order took so long, we let her walk around a little but were told off immediately. Kids had to be seated in their chair at all times. Ridiculous and these people definitely do not have children of their own, otherwise they would understand how difficult it is to keep your kid seated the entire time. Not child-friendly at all and...

OK Brunch Place - if you don’t care about the food.

Ordered Avocado Toast, Burger with stewed beef & truffle fries.

Avocado Toast - came on, this sad bread. with a even sadder taste (no salt). it did not convince. Do i expect more for 9EUR? Maybe, yes please. This was seriously mid.

Truffle Fries - always the same with truffle fries, the truffle taste is not there. a few more drops truffle oil isn’t too much to ask for else they were medium crispy, and seemed fried twice.

The Brioche Burger - meat was surprisingly good. The presentation as a burger however irritates. Would be nicer to just have everything topped off on a fresh brioche. As a consequence of this presentation, the top part of the bun was dry.

Vibes are good here, however my priority is rather the food so it did not convince me here.

Went there on a monday morning. There was no queue however there was a sign to wait, thus we waited for about 5-10 minutes and even though the restaurant was empty no one bothered to sit us.. We therefore went in and got sat instantly since they did not see us. The service was rather awful as the girls behind thw bar were I think setting up for the day? To clarify, we were not early about ~1pm and they serve brunch so it was a bit weird.. However the food seemed to be very good and "healthy", the avocado toast was a bit bland with added 4eur marinated chicken topping adding the only taste to it.. The truffle fries were not as good as in other places and didn't have that crunch. In addition, the drinks were really small. And also had to ask for the check after being finished for 20+ minutes. Nice place but service...
