Payment rule is not logical in this restaurant.

The employee said that it was not possible to split the payment in half with a card. Me and my friend ordered 2 menus and we wanted to pay each one's menu by each one's own card.

Why not just calculate per menu? She answered in a kind tone, but her logic was not logical to me.

According to the staff, it is because the restaurant pays credit card fees. Paying a card commission fee is not a customer's concern . Customers have eaten at a restaurant that accepts cards and have the right to pay by card.

It is said that payment in half is possible only if you pay in cash.

The most absurd part is, she said that "in the Netherlands, Dutch people always pay the total amount at once. They don't split the bill like you. I've never seen that in my life."

So, in the Netherlands, one person pays all the money with a card for the whole table?

So next time, if I order 1 menu, and my friend orders 1 menu sitting in another table, is it possible to pay separately at that time?

If they made it flexible in payment method, I would visit them again next time and I would willing to enjoy the food their but since what happened there, this place wouldn't be my first...

I used to visit Buon Gusto d'Italia often when we lived in this part of Amsterdam, and I have to say, it’s one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to in the Netherlands. What impressed me most was the quick service and friendly atmosphere. My husband and I would go there for lunch, and our pizza would arrive in just 15-20 minutes after ordering. We also went for dinner with friends, and the service was always top-notch. The waitstaff is incredibly attentive. I even got the sense that the owner himself was present in the dining area, chatting with guests and checking in to see if everything was to their liking.

Every pizza I tried was delicious, but it wasn’t just the pizza – the appetizers were fantastic too. Everything is worth the price, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Since COVID restrictions lifted, it’s wise to book a table in advance, but we were lucky to visit back when you could just walk in and find a seat. It’s absolutely worth it, though. If you’re ever in this part of Amsterdam, I can’t recommend it enough. Amazing pizza, fantastic appetizers, great service – it’s...

The service was terrible, the waitress got a couple of the drinks orders wrong and forgot one order completely. We had to wait one hour for the food (4 different pastas) and when I asked the waitress how much longer the food would be (after about 45 minutes wait) she snapped that she didn't know and she didn't bother finding out. When I asked her again, she snapped at me that they were busy. The proprietor (?) then got involved, and he confirmed that they were very busy.

I said that for future reference, if you're very busy, and the guests will have to face a long wait you should tell them this before they order, so they can make an informed decision on whether to take their business elsewhere.

To this he replied that you should expect a long wait for good food.

The food, however, was not good. It was tasteless - the best that can be said about it is that the pasta...

I had the pleasure of dining here a few weeks ago, and I recommend it to anyone fond of italian food. The pasta and pizza are simply delicious, and the portions are generous without being bloated. The staff were effortlessly charming and attentive without being ingratiating or hovering, and even after our meal was done and paid for we were not hurried in any way to leave. We even had the pleasure of meeting the chef, a deeply personable man who made us feel welcome even as he started to close his restaurant for the night. Prices were very reasonable, especially once one factors in the quality of the food and service. The tables were spaciously arranged, more so than most restaurants I've seen in these times of plague. Buon Gusto d'Italia clearly cares about their guests health as much as they do about their palates. All in all, a great experience!

Spoiled in style – a pure culinary experience in Rivierenbuurt, Amsterdam We dine often, yet this spot manages to stand out — again and again. There’s something disarmingly charming about the relaxed atmosphere. The chef de cuisine is genuinely engaged, and the owner’s presence — checking in with warmth and care — adds a golden touch. It feels personal, never pretentious. Fresh, flavourful, and thoughtfully plated: the gnocchi is a must (see photos), but locals and in-the-know gourmets will whisper one thing — this is where you find the best pizza in town. Think: a whisper-thin, crispy crust, generously topped. Pure pleasure. No frills. No fuss. Just high-quality ingredients, excellent service, and that familiar sense of being truly seen. Boardroom to Bodhi verdict: A soulful favourite. Come for the food, stay for the feeling.
