Horeca has hit a new low in trendy spots with Café Ente. From the service to the food, this restaurant is a glaring disappointment that exemplifies the trend of prioritizing Instagramability over genuine experience. First, there’s the obnoxious and passive staff, who clearly believe they’re too good for a service role. Their attitude sets the tone for an underwhelming visit. Second, the food—while decent in quality—seems to focus more on its photographic appeal than on flavor. With a menu that avoids an overwhelming number of options, one would expect the kitchen to delve deeply into the nuances of flavor and aim for culinary excellence. Unfortunately, this is not the case at Ente. Take the tartare, for instance—it’s essentially a fresh slab of meat, served with little thought or depth of flavor. And then there’s the bread—oh, the bread! In the European and Judeo-Christian tradition, bread holds a sacred place on the table. Yet, at Café Ente, they dare to serve less than a quarter of a mediocre baguette for a whopping 5 euros. It’s both a disappointment and a shame.

I loved this place from the moment we walked in. It was a Tuesday and we didn’t have a reservation, but the staff kindly found us a cozy corner table. The service was outstanding, super attentive and fast! 😍 We ordered several dishes and everything was truly delicious, the taste, the texture, everything was perfect. The wine selection was also very nice. The only thing that wasn’t quite 5-star for me were the cocktails. 🍹 I had a spicy margarita that wasn’t spicy at all, and the Paloma was overly sweet. That said, I would absolutely recommend this place for its coziness, cleanliness, and incredibly attentive service.

This was a pleasant surprise! Didn’t know anything about it other than it was magnetically attracting me as I was riding by. I was obligated to stop by. The Saturday market was on full display from the outdoor seats (15 or so) small ‘bite’ menu of bistro food. I had the mackerel rilette €9 a glass of rioja blanco €6.50 and Grenache from Rhône €9. The food that I spied looked delicious as well. They had a good selection of wines by the glass and a solid list of bottles. Even though it’s not in my neighborhood, I will find my way back. That’s all for now!
