I am deeply disappointed and appalled by the treatment my partner and I received at Duende recently. Despite being long-time patrons for over five years, we experienced an unacceptable display of unprofessionalism, impoliteness, disrespect, and outright hostility from the female owner.
After being informed by a staff member that a table was available for us outside, we moved accordingly. However, this simple action triggered an explosive and irrational outburst from her. In front of numerous customers, she loudly berated us, using aggressive hand and body gestures and shouting, "This is my place, I don't want people like you here." She then instructed her employees to kick us out. This level of disrespect, aggression, and blatant discrimination is something I have never encountered in any establishment across Latin America, the Middle East, or Europe.
Such behavior is entirely inexcusable, and it is clear that the female owner lacks the basic standards of respect and customer service. It was her employee who told us we could move outside, so we did so accordingly. There is no reason in the world that justifies acting aggressively in such a racist, discriminatory, and disrespectful manner. She refused to apologize and continued screaming at us even after we tried to explain that it was not our decision to move arbitrarily. Instead, she continued arguing and shouting loudly. This created a distressing environment for us, with my partner in tears despite our five years of loyalty as customers.
The environment created by her erratic and offensive conduct is far from what any customer...
Read moreA few days ago we had one of the worst experiences ever eating in a resort Me and my boyfriend are regulars at duende and know how the taste of the food and sangria is as no other. This night we arrived and without any welcome greeting were put at the bar to wait for a table. The coworker was even almost ignoring us. As soon. We sat another came to us to take our order very roughly. We didn't know yet and he was sort of pushing us to choose. After we ordered sangria in de feeling of hurrying he just walked all of a sudden away. After we got the sangria we found out that the sangria was not okay. Without an excuse or conversation they denied our judgment leaving us with the gone bad sangria. Twice we also asked for water, what After 10 minutes still not came. On top of that they let two other couples have a table before us, while we were first in line. That was the drop and we left. At the kassa I told that I was not happy with this way of treatment, where the coworker said: "a well next time better, or otherwise if you don't come anymore also fine". They let us pay the complete amount and left us in such a bad state.....terrible....from.my favorite restaurant to a restaurant to never return.
All.thanks to mostly two if the worker. The older man that seems to is the leader and works there for a very long time. Then the and the younger guy with the curly dark blond hair. Both Spanish speakers, bit incredibly rude they are going over...
Read moreAmazing atmosphere inside, always full, so it’s quite challenging to get a table. This time we got one right away. After we ordered it seemed they had forgotten to bring two dishes, but we were patient to wait before asking. Then when we ordered some more tapas, I asked about the two dishes and the waitress was supposed to check in the kitchen. We never received feedback about it, so we expected it to come. After 20min it still didnt come and also no info. When we asked the bill, those two dishes were on there, even though we never got them, so I told them about it. As an answer we got : “ah ok let me remove it from the bill”. There was no apologies at all, I just thought it was so rude, and really bad service. The least you could do was make an apology, or offer a little drink from the house.
Also really hard to get the attention of waiters there! They are not making eye contact, (and it wasnt that busy).
Really too bad cause my fav restaurant is Duende Dos, and I wanted to try this one, but I really recommend Duende Dos way more. Even though it’s always busy there, the service is better and faster. Also I find the food better there…
Ceviche wasnt that great… bit too hard still, while the fish should be soft.
Duende: i hope you can improve your service a bit more even in these challenging times of staff...
