We have never been to Amsterdam before and spent our first five days at the Posthorn before leaving on our boat and bike trip . it was such A nice welcome by the owner Francois whom after bringing us to our room asked us what time we would like breakfast and the next morning not only brought breakfast but had goes to the bakery in the early morning purchasing fresh pastries. He gave us such a level of comfort for the beginning of our stay and continued throughout the five days. After bringing breakfast to our room he would share with us things that were nice to see and places that would be nice to eat as well. We had such a nice room and it was so beautiful to look out the window at night at the canal with the lights. After a long day I looked forward to going back to the lovely room .The Posthorn could not be more wonderfully located . I was actually very drawn to it because of the history as well ! It is close to wonderful coffee shops ,restaurants and right on the canal and close to the train station and the Ferry ! If you are interested in renting bikes there is a bike place very close by! With all of our travels one of the things that is very important and creates fond memories are the wonderful people we meet along the way and believe me Francois‘s wonderful B&B and wonderful experience will always be on our list of fond memories! If I could give it 10 stars I would! Thank...
Read moreThere is a reason this property get five star reviews across the board. it is perfect.||First of all, Francois, the owner & host is one of the nicest humans you will meet. We enjoyed meeting him so much and appreciated all his help. ||Secondly, the location is magical. Every morning i walked out the door and was overwhelmed by the beauty of our surroundings. A gorgeous area where you can walk easily to many of Amsterdam's main attractions. the train station is about a 10-15 walk away. We absolutely loved this neighbourhood.||Thirdly, the room was beautiful. We had a quiet room in the back of the house. Although it is a 17th century home, it has been updated with every comfort required for a lovely stay. The mattress was AMAZING, as was the SHOWER. incredible water pressure in a very modern washroom.||Fourth, the breakfast. Each day was started with a lovely breakfast brought to our room. What a treat! Francois provided such a generous amount of food that we were able to make lunch to take out with us as well. he provided milk etc. in the fridge and it was great to be able to make a cup of tea after a long day out exploring beautiful Amsterdam.||If you want to have an authentic Amsterdam experience, this is the place to stay! We loved it so much that we hope to return to this "home away from home" in the...
Read moreIf I could give more than five stars I would. The owner Francois could not have made us feel more comfortable. We were traveling to Amsterdam for the first time and to be wonderfully welcomed from the very beginning to every morning with a beautiful prepared breakfast not to mention that every morning he went to the bakery as soon as they opened and we were presented with fresh pastries. Then he would help us With some suggestions on our five days there before we were leaving for a boat and bike trip. I have always felt that equally important as the destination are the wonderful connections and memories we experience along the way and François had a great impact on us. I loved our room looking out at the canal lights at night and we were so centrally located. After our bike trip we had one day left back in Amsterdam and François was more than happy to hold all four of our bags while we spent the day before leaving.
