Generally decent cocktails but very overpriced. Have had better for less. Sound system is great, but the attitude of the owner or manager felt entitled and very unwelcoming. Bar staff very was nice though.
There was miscommunication about the reservation being only for the restaurant when we thought it was for the listening bar, which made us forfeit our deposit of €200. The manager said it was “clearly” stated in the email. It was not clearly stated and in fact the notice was near the bottom of an automated reservation confirmation email. Who reads past the “confirmation” section of these reservation app emails? Come on.
The last time I was there the restaurant part didn’t exist. This being a new place I’d expect they’d make some accommodations until people figured it out, flipping the experience for the customer. Would have been happy to spend the deposit and way way more at the bar on food and drink but we didn’t have the time for a multi course fixed meal. The manager refused and had this “too bad so sad but I’m going to be fake polite to try to get you spend the maximum amount of money possible or leave and take your money anyway” attitude and I felt like I was being told I was shit out of luck for not reading the TOS. Very bad energy.
So now I am writing this review. I will never return and I have already heard multiple people I know relay a similar experience with this place.
I hope they can find their way to updating their policies or putting the reservation notice at the TOP of the email, or send a separate one to clarify that it is for a €125pp (minimum) fixed course meal (not including alcohol). At least until people are more familiar with the place, but honestly I don’t hold out much hope for it. If I wanted to have this kind of fine dining experience there are literally two different Michelin star restaurants across the street.
The interior design is incredible though. So yeah I get it, gotta pay the rent and business loans...
Read moreI don’t even know where to begin — this experience felt like an orchestra. Solo dining at the kitchen-view counter was, without question, the highlight of my Amsterdam trip.
From the moment I sat down, I was mesmerized. Watching each dish come together with such precision, care, and artistry felt like being on the set of a beautifully shot film. As a big fan of The Bear, I couldn’t help but feel like I had stepped right into the show — the energy, the rhythm, and the seamless flow between the team were captivating.
The entire crew’s service was impeccable — attentive without being intrusive, warm without being forced. They anticipated every need before I could ask: water refilled, plates cleared, and every course presented by a different member of the team, each describing the dish in vivid detail. The little conversations I had with them throughout the night made me feel less like a guest and more like a regular.
And the food… absolutely outstanding. Every bite was balanced, every detail intentional. The atmosphere tied it all together — the music selection, the sound quality, the lighting — all perfectly tuned to the mood.
After two hours of culinary bliss, I headed downstairs to the listening bar. The shift in energy was magical — a cozy, mellow space with beautifully curated hi-fi music that carried the night into a gentle, soulful ending.
It was the perfect way to spend my last night in Amsterdam. I usually keep my reviews short and to the point, but this wasn’t just a dinner — it was an experience.
I’ll be back the next time I’m in the city. All my love to the chefs and the crew — your dedication...
Read moreCue Amsterdam is definitely bringing something fresh to the table, and I loved every bit of it! Here’s the scoop on what I tried:
Seaweed Cracker & Mimolette Cheese: This was a fun surprise! The cracker was super light and crispy, and the mimolette cheese added this amazing nutty, savory punch. A perfect little starter to kick things off.
Little Gem Salad: Okay, it might sound basic, but it was so fresh and crisp, with just the right amount of light dressing. It was a refreshing palate cleanser between all the rich dishes.
Duck & Blueberry: Obsessed with this one! The duck was cooked to perfection—juicy and tender—and the blueberry sauce brought a sweet-tart kick that paired so well with the richness of the meat. We loved it so much we ordered it again!
Short Ribs Sandwich: Showstopper alert! The short ribs were melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the sandwich had the ideal balance of meaty goodness with a hint of smokiness. If you’re going to try one thing, let it be this. We ended up ordering it twice, too!
Now, let’s talk drinks! They’ve got a small but impressive selection of bubbles. I went with the 2022 Cuvée Special Extra Brut from Greece—crisp, refreshing, and it went with everything we ordered. If you’re looking to go all out, the NV ‘Les Arpents’ Extra Brut from France would be a great choice. Their cocktails are also super creative and worth trying!
All in all, Cue Amsterdam serves up some seriously tasty and inventive dishes. Just keep in mind, prices are a bit steep, so it’s perfect for a special night out when you’re...
