Came on a travel tour group. Became the worst experience of the entire 10 day trip. I was so hoping for this place to be like all the reviews as I already flagged it as a place to stop at and didnt know of it until we got there. Apparently one key person/owner was sick that day but didn't know until after the fact, which shouldn't matter because good food and service is good food and service. Especially when on a tour paying extra, this experience should have been memorable in a good way and was not. One older lady staff was flat out rude. Wine was served in water glasses. No one was asked how we wanted our ribeyes cooked, and all came out blue and looked either baked or boiled, gross. Just look at the amount of vegetables on the plate, thats all I got. Items that were on our menu selection when we asked about it we were rudely told did not come with the meal, but it was written out on our menu selection sheet. If we questioned further, the items would finally come out. The worst part was that the appetizer and meal came out in a reasonable time, but the dessert took 40 minutes to come out even the simple Ice cream with chocolate sauce seemed to take longer to come out than a heated apple pie. If this location cant handle tours for any reason they should not do them with the tour companies. For the first meal for many of us in Amsterdam, it was an absolute disaster that I wish the staff cared about. Also, for us feeling like we inconvenienced the locals trying to come in and dine while we sat with nothing in front of us, just note we were stuck sitting at the tables waiting forever for dessert, we would have been happy to leave and give you our groups seats if the staff was punctual on the last course. I wish our tour group gave us some funds back because we paid 3 times for a bad experience that will always be the stain...
Read moreIt doesn't matter whether you have a small budget or a big budget. There is something on the menu that you'll be able to afford and also actually enjoy. The food tastes amazing and I always come back for more. Whether it's for lunch, some snacks, dinner or simply to have a few drinks. There's enough space for bigger groups, or you can just bring yourself over and enjoy the atmosphere and the lovely people over there. It's fairly easy to start a conversation with someone. The atmosphere is lovely, good vibes all around...
Read moreThis is the real Amsterdam. A gezellig Dutch eetcafe, just outside the center. I had the bread with herb butter and the kip sate. Both were excellent. My cousin also had the kip sate and the carpaccio starter. The bread was just what I needed. The sate was classic and delicious. Reservations are recommended but not...
