Tucked away in the outskirts of the Jordaan, one could quite easily walk past this restaurant with its unpretentious exterior and be totally unaware as to its existence; That would be a pity because Lucky House is a true gem. Step inside and this family run operation is a hive of activity. Although it is possible to sit down and have a meal, the majority of the clientele come for takeaway meals for which this establishment has a deservedly excellent reputation. There is a good size open plan kitchen where you can observe your orders being prepared for you. The "Lucky House " concept is based on the centuries old street food of South-East Asia and features a variety of very reasonably priced wok dishes and specialities such as roasted Peking duck. The staff are friendly and attentive. Sadly, the place is closed on Saturdays, but everyone...

We used to love Lucky House Amsterdam, especially the duck with bami, which was always a favorite. However, over the past few months, the quality has gone downhill dramatically.

Firstly, we’ve noticed unpleasant surprises in our meals—stray hairs and other materials that absolutely should not be in food. This has happened multiple times now, which is unacceptable.

Secondly, the duck, which was once flavorful and delicious, is now drowned in an absurd amount of oil. It’s not only disgusting but also makes us question the quality of the oil used—it tastes like cheap, overused cooking oil.

And to top it all off, after tonight’s meal, I’m feeling physically sick. This was the last straw, and we will never order from here again. It’s a shame to see such a once-loved dish ruined like this.

Do better, Lucky House. You’ve lost...

My friend amd I paid a visit to Lucky house unplanned, however I was recommended by another friend about the restaurant before. Hence, I'm thrilled to give it a try Ambiance: cozy, small but not too confined to feel annoying and noisy Staff: big big plus as all aunties are super friendly and nice, they take care of all guests, replaced used dished to ensure we could taste the origin flavor of the dishes Food: I personally love the after taste spicy of mapao tofu, it's perfectly paired with stir fried noodles. The remaining dishes are so so, at least the wrap of Xiao Long Bao is still softer than other places I went to Drink: we ordered jasmine tea for a cold evening, enjoyable enough for...
