A nice McDonald's near Amsterdam. It's in the middle of several large "Big Box" stores outside of Amsterdam - mostly homegoods stores. I was very impressed with how professional, polite and pleasant they were. We used the drive-through and didn't go inside, but it looked nice! I need to confess, I haven't eaten at a McDonald's in years, maybe more than 10 years. I have visited them on the Kinkerstraat here in Amsterdam with a friend but didn't eat there. So this was the first time to eat their food in a long time. This was a quick meal before shopping. I was so hungry but it was super-lekker (delicious)! So pleasant - the guy taking the order could be a DJ. The person handing out the food was all smiles and so nice. Thanks McDonald's.

Geachte heer/mevrouw, Hierbij wil ik graag een klacht indienen over mijn ervaring bij McDonald’s Spaklerweg in Amsterdam op 15 juni 2025 rond 17:00 uur. Mijn bestelnummer was 3055. Tot mijn verbazing zag ik dat gasten met hogere bestelnummers, zoals 3064, eerder werden geholpen, terwijl ik ruim 20 minuten op mijn bestelling heb moeten wachten. Nadat ik merkte dat mijn bestelling ongewoon lang duurde, ben ik naar één van de floormanagers gelopen om op een beleefde manier te informeren naar de status van mijn bestelling. Tot mijn grote verbazing en teleurstelling reageerde de floor manager buitengewoon onbeleefd. Op mijn vriendelijke vraag "Excuseer, meneer?" antwoordde hij zeer kortaf en onvriendelijk met: "Wat wil je?!". Ik gaf aan dat ik inmiddels al 15 minuten op mijn bestelling wachtte, waarop hij geërgerd zei: "Komt eraan!". Vervolgens pakte hij mijn bon, liep naar het personeel en zei iets tegen een collega, die daarop begon te lachen. Toen de floor manager terugkwam en ik aangaf dat ik een klacht wilde indienen over zijn gedrag, reageerde hij wederom boos en zei: "Ga je gang, dat interesseert me niet." Ik was tijdens dit voorval samen met mijn 18-jarige zoon en mijn vrouw, die dit incident beiden volledig hebben meegemaakt. Het gedrag van deze floor manager, een heer met een Somalisch uiterlijk (de andere floor manager, een Nederlandse man in een wit overhemd, was het niet), was verre van klantvriendelijk en absoluut niet in lijn met de service die men van een internationaal gerenommeerd bedrijf als McDonald’s mag verwachten. Als iemand met jarenlange ervaring in klantenservice, weet ik hoe belangrijk respectvolle en professionele communicatie is – vooral in situaties waarin een klant al langer moet wachten. Het gedrag van deze medewerker was niet alleen onprofessioneel, maar gaf mij ook het gevoel totaal niet serieus genomen te worden als klant. Ik verzoek u vriendelijk doch dringend om deze situatie serieus te nemen, het incident te onderzoeken en passende maatregelen te treffen. Ik ontvang graag een terugkoppeling over de uitkomst van uw onderzoek en de stappen die ondernomen worden om herhaling te voorkomen. Met vriendelijke groeten,R.C.

I visited this establishment tonight, and I have never experienced a worse customer service experience. I ordered a menu with iced tea which was disgusting and I drank from the cup twice, I went to the waiter then to the manager who looked inside the cup and did not want to exchange my disgusting tea for a Coke? I think this MC is not doing a good job of advertising, and I would recommend changing the manager of this establishment because he has no feeling for the customer. Definitely do not go to this MC

I visited this establishment tonight, and I have never experienced a worse customer service experience. I ordered a menu with iced tea which was disgusting and I drank from the cup twice, I went to the waiter then to the manager who looked inside the cup and did not want to exchange my disgusting tea for a Coke? I think this MC is not doing a good job of advertising, and I would recommend changing the manager of this establishment because he has no feeling for the customer. Definitely do not go to this MC

ALL NETHERLANDS TOURISTS TAKE NOTE: the food here was very good, BUT I took a video of the menu to send to my american friends so they would come to the restaurant with me when we get the money to take a vacation together. However, the manager walked up to me and told me to not film with an iPhone. The guy didn't speak good english but I was able to gather that there was no filming allowed within the establishment. I deleted the video in front of his eyes, but then he made it seem like I was playing with him or fooling him (I couldn't understand his english)... I realized after a minute that he was referencing that after deleting a video on iPhone, you have to remove the video from the 'recently deleted' folder in Settings as well. Let's be clear: I had no idea where to find this, but I was able to find it anyway while the manager was staring very angrily at me, seemingly suggesting that I would have kept the video if he wasn't watching me permanently delete it. I deleted the video, permanently, AGAIN in front of his eyes.

What a strange occurrence!! This manager kept saying that it "wasn't his decision" but it obviously was! There is no establishment on the planet that doesn't allow recording... and even so, I wasn't recording any specific person or employee!! I was recording a menu!!!!!

Owner of the restaurant: please help out this manager on how to engage with customers!!!! This was truly embarrassing!!!!!!!!! The manager behaved on the level of LESS THAN AN ENTRY LEVEL EMPLOYEE!!!! My mouth was literally gaping in awe at how awful this man's customer service was, and I don't think he understood why. I tend to avoid rating a place based on one bad experience in detriment to good ones. But this time I will make an exception because it was not an accidental mistake. I ordered 3 mini chocolate chip cookies to go. I often check my McOrder because I custonize it and it's not uncommon that it comes wrong and who goes back after reaching the destination and open the bag with the order handled incorrectly? So when I checked my bag I noticed that the 3 cookies were all but the flavors I had chosen. I saw it being packed and already knew they didn't look like the ones I ordered. Not only the person that handled my order deliberately chose to not inform me there was only one flavour available, it decided to deliver it to me anyway, probably hoping I would not notice it and knowing if I didn't, I wouldn't come back. I did and I complained and instead of trying to compensate for it, the person exchanged it for one one normal sized cookie of one of the flavours I had selected. Felt a bit ripped off, but decided to let it go. My take from this are: 1 - If it's unavailable, it should not show up on the ordering totem. 2 - It's unacceptable that to workaround the first problem, you get served with something else in disguise. This is the worst "fast" food "restaurant" I've ever encountered. They advertise to be open until 3:00 am. I drove in to the McDrive around 2:10. There was already a long line of cars but I was hungry so thought it would be worth the wait. Two more cars pulled up behind me after which the lane was closed behind us by McPersonnel. When it was finally my turn to order ~20 minutes later, I was greeted with: "WE'RE CLOSED!" radio silence.. Wait what? How THE HECK would anyone think that is a good idea?! They basically trapped 6 cars in the McDrive lane. After another 5 to 10 minutes they decide to take my order. ANOTHER 20 minutes(!) later I'm done, stalled next to the unmanned pay terminal. I ask the two drivers in front of me to try to make way so I can attempt to escape from this McTrap. When I get back to my car the line starts to move, they get their food. When I stop briefly at the second window, the guy occupying it says; "It seems you have forgotten to pay at the first window". I want to say: "It seems this place is ran by a group mentally challenged sloths suffering a serious hangover". But I don't, and drive off. No food, wasted an hour of my life. Good Game...
