Mikkeller at Morebeer — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Of all the MoreBeer bars this was the one that I found it the most difficult to connect with. There is a lot of Brewdog branding here which felt out of place for an independent craft beer offering. There are also a number of speciality beers priced at €25 which being the first thing I saw so prominently displayed was off-putting. That aside, there are a range of other great craft beers on offer. I would not call this a 'gastro pub' as it is a basic fare of burgers and fries and whilst of good quality, I found the fries were too hot and the burger a bit dry....then again burgers aren’t really my thing. There was also a bit of wait for the food...nothing excessive although it just felt that little bit too long. It was however a fairly busy evening and the staff coped well. The selection of beers is good here, but food and service are awful. I’ve ordered a chicken burger and it didn’t look or taste as chicken(see the picture). When I’ve asked the employee whether that is really chicken they assured they didn’t mix it up with anything else in the menu. So it’s either the chicken patty is weird or employees weren’t able to admit their mistake. It was very dark, so I have asked for 3 time to turn the light a bit on, so the employees did it but only for a minute and turned it off again. The service in bringing beer is fast, but for food you have to wait for almost an hour to get it. I definitely won’t go here to get food again, and even though the beer selection is good the service makes it not...

Hi, updating the feedback here after question o n the number of stars: this is due to the fact that the waiter asked to us speak on a lower volume because according to her "other customers could not listen and speak to each other". I know that I speak on a higher tone, specially when meeting friends on a bar. I had no alcohol so I also remember that the tone was not too high - that is why I gave such bad stars - if I am going to bar I expect to have good time with friends on an environement where we can laugh out loud and have fun with each other, and that is the opposite that I got. This is the first time it happened to me after living here in Amsterdam for 7 years - and already going to many other cafes around everywhere...
