I just stumbled upon this hidden gem in Amsterdam that has left me absolutely thrilled. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a warm welcome and treated like a valued guest. What sets this place apart is their exceptional hospitality.
Frederick and Tim were excellent hosts. Their knowledge and passion shone through as they provided me with insightful recommendations. If you're ordering wine by the glass, don't hesitate to ask about their offerings beyond what's listed in the menu. They utilize the innovative coravin wine blanket system, ensuring that every glass served is fresh and delightful, even from opened bottles.
One aspect that truly stood out for me was the fantastic food. The menu at this place offers a range of mouthwatering dishes that perfectly complement the wines on offer. Each plate was thoughtfully prepared and skillfully paired. The attention to detail in both food and wine pairings was truly commendable.
I can confidently say that I will be returning to this place time and time again. I am already eager to share this hidden gem with my friends, knowing that they too will appreciate the warm welcome, exceptional wine selection, and delicious food. It could be a nice place for medium sized groups for tastings as well.
Looking forward to...
Read moreDelicious food but it’s more of a wine bar than a restaurant. THE FOCUS IS ON THE WINE NOT THE FOOD ⚠️
This place came highly recommended to us, but our recommendater seems to have misunderstood the intention of wanting to get dinner and one of our party being unable to have alcohol because of an incoming surgery.
The menu is extensive and long but only one page is dedicated to the food. Menus are only available in Dutch and when the expats in the group asked about it, staff told them to use Google translate (luckily they have free WiFi) some things don’t translate well and come across awkwardly. Imho an explanation of the dining style would have been nice. Self described as not quite tapas or dinner dish, you got to collect a Few different dishes to constitute as a meal to best pair with your wine.
Our reservation was made via e-mail but was not accepted, luckily we arrived earlier and managed to get a table while we waited for the rest of our party.
I finally got to fulfill my dream of eating bones in a socially acceptable way, heck even label it as fancy!
If I lived in the neighborhood, you could easily catch me sitting outside in the sunshine with a good book, a great glass of wine and some €10 bone marrow on a sunny...
Read moreI came here because of the reviews and photos, and honestly, they were spot on. The service was excellent—fast, attentive, and really focused on each table, giving that little extra attention you sometimes need, especially when there are so many options and you don’t know where to start. Everyone was lovely and very professional. We ordered the bread and olives—the olive oil was so good I could have eaten it with a spoon. The roasted beet came with a blue cheese foam, and we ended up dipping our bread in the remaining sauce. This dish was very original, and the combination of flavors was incredible! We also had the catch of the day, which was so tender it could be cut with a fork! Well-cooked fish never fails, and this was delicious. The roasted potatoes came with a warm sauce on top—so comforting! Finally, the desserts. The highlight was the saffron semifreddo! I almost want to cry because I don’t know if I’ll ever taste anything like it again… with those macadamia nuts, it was absolutely spectacular. Highly...
