Don’t go here if you are American— or if you want to be treated as a human being .

I live 400 m away from this place and have been coming here ever since they opened. I lived here long before they opened. For many years. I’ve always ordered the chef’s favorite. And I always have substituted the spicy feta for the normal feta. Even on Uber eats I’ve done it with a comment. Or I walked down and order it and bring it home, or my girlfriend goes (She likes the spicy Greek plate).

I have ordered food there at least 100 times. Today they wanted to charge me an extra €1.50 for spicy feta even though I wasn’t getting anything extra. I simply wanted to replace one thing with another.

Annoying, but fine I definitely don’t care about the 1.50 and I don’t really mind paying the extra money to get what I want. But the way the guy talk to me was ridiculous and horrible. He was super rude and disrespectful. I was just a customer asking why they had changed this process in a nice way. He was not nice. Fine I can go somewhere else. So I said I wanted my money back. He made me sit while he called the manager. Again - fine. He had to call the manager to refund me €21. But then he started making fun of Americans as I walked out. I was still in there while he was talking about how Americans are in front of everyone else in there I stopped, and I turned around and began speaking Dutch — I was about to be rude but I know it’s just not worth it. So I stopped to midsentence and walked out I’m American, yeah. Maar ik ben ook een Nederlander — one who did not deserve to be treated that way, or talked about that way in front of those people, and I live just around the corner when I walked past, I will be reminded to post another review about how bad this place is. Whoever the manager is is responsible. You hire these people they treat people this way. IT IS YOUR FAULT.

I’ve never been treated so crappy by anybody in a restaurant in my entire life. Shame on you,...

Last time coming or ordering from here.

I was a very happy customer in the past 3 years since I moved to Amsterdam. In the few times I came to eat inside (instead of delivery), I was treated well by the staff and the food was always great.

Unfortunately, my last visit was very negative: different ingredients were used (regular tomato instead to cherry tomato and cucumber which was never used in the Freaky Greek) but the worst was how unpollite and rude one of the owners was with me and my wife. While trying to figure a misunderstanding in my receipt with the lady who picked my order, this man jumps into the discussion and started to argue with me, the customer. He was very arrogant with agreesive tone and body language. Completely cluessless about customer experience. At first I thought he was trying to BS me saying that he knew better because he was the owner. But you know what? An employee would never do such rookie mistake with a customer. He must be indeed the owner and do as he wishes without consequences. This man spoke to me as I was doing some kind favor by spending on his business.

It's a real shame because I was a big fan of the Freaky Greek with the tsatsiki on the side which has been ordered ever since.

I regret bringing family and friends to this place. There will be...

This one’s is going to be a tough review to write because the sheer experience of it is hard to pen down. But here goes my attempt. Today was one of the best meals I have eaten in Amsterdam since December of 2022. I ordered the mrs Greek dish. I was super hungry and this healthy plate of veggies and meat seemed perfect. The pork was cooked so well, the taste succulent with bite sized pieces. The tomatoes adding sourness, the onions adding a little bit of spice, the yogurt sauce tied it all together and the pita bread adding the much required carbs. But the star ingredient of this meal was that fig jam which brought this surprising sweetness to the entire dish and boom!! My palate had a totally different experience taking this dish to the next level! Thank you to our lovely servers who prepared my food with a beautiful smile on their face and thank you to whoever owns this place for allowing me to completely surrender and enjoy me meal wholeheartedly. My heart was indeed so joyful...

I got food poisoning after eating in this store! This was my worst experience ever! I had to call last minute sick in my job, and I spent the night throwing up chunks of gyros. The food tasted lovely when I tasted it, and I was so happy, as a Greek, to find something close to pita gyros, even though the pieces were bigger than they should have been. The staff was kind and helpful as well, and I liked the vibes of the store, but my experience after digesting the food was horrible! And I'm 100% sure I got sick from that because I only drunk coffee I made home in the morning, gyros was my lunch, and then I spent the evening drinking lots of soda to digest the gyros before.. My boyfriend was sick too and we woke up sick at the exact same time, maybe because it was the only common thing we ate together. It was horrible, sad and expensive as well, 30€ for 2 pitas..., but I was so happy yesterday:'(

Small hidden gem just on the outskirts of city centre. The restaurant has around 12-20 seats and can get quite warm as I dont think they have air con. Their pork gyros and pita bread is probably some of the best food Ive ever had! The pirk gyros is extremely well seasoned and the meat itself isnt over dry as it has bits of fat with it. Normally I'm not a massive fan of pita bread but the pita bread here has changed my mind! The pita here is nice and soft and as its placed together with thw meat, it absorbs all the oil from the meat and makes the pita extremely fragrant . In terms of sizing, I normally get the dish which is a pretty large portion and is probably too much for 1 person but not quite enough for 2. We got "meat the king" once and that was nearly double the size of the other options and will be enough for 2 people as it comes with 2 pieces of pita as well as a fried egg and cheese.
