Visited on a relatively busy late evening. We didn’t have a reservation but they were still kind enough to let us have a table for an hour and a half. The decor, lighting and friendly staff added to the comforting atmosphere of the restaurant. It is important to note that as the interior is quite small, bringing a large group would not be convenient. The Pappardelle Al Ragù (22 euros), Tortellini Parmigiano (24 euros) and Tagiliatella Tarfuto was ordered. There was complimentary focaccia bread and olive oil. The focaccia was light and airy, while the olive oil tasted rich and of high quality. Another bonus was that the restaurant served free tap water in a large bottle for the table (Which is quite rare in the Netherlands). For the price there was a decent portion and all the fresh pasta and sauces for each dish were absoloutely impeccable. Personally it is one of the most authentic places that I’ve been to in NL. For the Tagiliatella Tarfuto, there was extra truffle that was shaved table side. The Pappardelle Al Ragù also had table side parmasean shaving over the dish. Overall the experience was extremely pleasant and would highly recommend. However since the place is quite small, making a reservation in advanced would be a good idea. In the end it comes to a solid 4.5/5 - the only reason for the rating to not be higher would be that we did not have the chance to try the desserts and wines they offered due to the lack of time. Therefore a full 5 star review cannot be given, as we did not complete the full dining experience. Side note: The staff were extremely friendly and genuine + they were all Italian - adding to the authentic...
Read moreI was looking for a place near my hotel for a late dinner and saw that this closed at 10pm. I called at 9.10pm to ask what time their last order was, just in case I walked over and missed it. The girl on the phone was very friendly and said it would be fine. The small restaurant was packed when I arrived but I was lucky to get a seat, and the cacio e pepe I ordered came very promptly. It was one of the best cacio e pepe I ever had! Fresh pasta, so chewy with a good bite, the sauce was sooo good. I wanted to order a house white (tired and didn’t care) but they said they’d bring the “wine list”. It was a cute cart of bottles which they leave with you to leisurely choose. Service was so friendly - two different servers helped me and both were just as nice. I was eyeing the dessert but it was approaching 10pm so I didn’t want to hold them up, but the server came over to ask if I wanted dessert anyway and so they still accommodated me. Amazing food, I would definitely go back again even on the same trip! Was very lucky to get a seat, but reservations would be recommended unless you go very early or late like I did. Thank you Julia (??) for the...
Read moreGood location and normal service, nice vibe, like a small kitchen in the back lane of your home, cozy and relax. It seems mainly serve fresh pasta, not like the other touristic fansy Italian restaurants, which is exactly what I want. But I have to say the food is disappointing, at least for the "fresh pici al pepe" I ordered. I understand the fresh pasta can be a bit sticky on teeth, but would be much much better if you put them into cold water for 30sec right out of the boiling pot. This is for one. Secondly, the white sauce is really really really really OVER salty.... I'm already a heavy taste person normally I like food with a bit more salt, but this, this is way out of range..... I didn't even finish my small portion. And the waiter didn't bother to ask why I didn't finish it. But that's fine for me. I don't know how their other sauces are, had the intention to order pasta al ragu (wide band pasta Bolognese style) it looks nice when the table next to me ordered that, but only to say, if a pasta cucina can't make the most simple one (either aglio e olio or pepe) properly, then it make no sense to try the others. Will not go...
