We entered this establishment a little tired from a busy week and from walking around PAN at the RAI. We almost decided to head back down the Utrechtsestraat for some of the restaurants we had seen before, but fate led us into this wonderful gem of a place! It was a tight one, because they thought at first they were fully booked, until Hiro decided there was enough time in their reservation schedule to make it happen. Truly a Hiro this world needs desperately! We were seated at the bar. The staff is attentive and I was baffled at how Hiro could manage to be so attentive to us while being needed at 10 places at the same time! The food is also excellent and exciting and fresh. To be honest not every single bite was as exciting as the other, but everything was good, fun, fresh and honest! Please go here for exciting food, but also for the drinks. And sit at the bar is also defenitely recommended! Try some Japanese beers, sake, plum wine, tea or whatever else they have for you to try. It's all worth your time!
For us, dining here was healing for the soul and I haven't felt so welcomed, excited and satisfied in a while. Great job to the whole team and (once again) our...
Read moreHad a positively amazing meal here. The staff were super friendly. We were pretty late, but we called ahead and they fixed us up with a table nonetheless, even though the place was jam packed with people. Nice selection of beers (some Chinese and Japanese ones), whisky's, and other drinks.
Then the food: first of all, this is not an all-inclusive gig. The menu is limited, but in a very good way. They don't have a 150 dishes, but this allows the chefs to create the dishes they do serve with extra care. And you can really taste it: the quality of the food we received was just superb. I fully recommend the Sushi For Two, although we did have some starters and finishers to fill us up properly. The quality just cannot be compared to the well known all-inclusive sushi chains.
Pricewise, Ku Kitchen & Bar is as we expected: you pay a bit more than on average. It ain't steep, but it ain't cheap either. Personally, I found the price fair considering the location, the service, and the outstanding food.
TLDR: I wholeheartedly recommend Ku Kitchen & Bar to anyone who's looking for...

If you’re in Amsterdam and love Japanese food, Ku Kitchen & Bar is a must-visit. The place has a chill, modern vibe with a cozy atmosphere. Watching the chefs in the open kitchen is also nice to see.
The food is amazing. The sushi is fresh and beautifully presented – try the dragon roll and spicy tuna roll. The hot dishes like yakitori, tempura my look well made and the vatter is not too thick as you somethimes see, and gyoza are handmade so theyre really good!
Service is friendly and attentive. The staff know their stuff and are happy to recommend dishes. The drink menu is extensive, featuring sake, Japanese whiskey like suntory's Yamazaki and Hibiki( recommend this one ) and delicious cocktails.
Prices are reasonable for the quality. Overall, Ku Kitchen & Bar offers great atmosphere, excellent food, and professional service. Definitely...
