The misses and me went for the fixed 10 tapas menu for 17.50 pp. The service was friendly and fast, the food was good and came in three rounds:
First round:
Manchego cheese with quince jam, serrano ham, artichoke with sundried tomatoes, humus and bread with aioli. These were all delicious!
Second round:
Gamba's with spanish spicy sauce, fried squid rings and garlic mushrooms. The gamba's were already cleaned and were easy to peel open and fresh, but little soft in taste. squid rings and mushrooms were good.
Third round:
Grilled sirloin strips, spanish sausage with bulgur and yoghurt dip, chorizo croquette, veal stew and a mozzarella salad. As soon as it was served I tried the grilled sirloin strips and unfortunately these were already cold, which is undesirable for the taste, but difficult to avoid. After the course I mentioned this to the waiter and he thanked me for the feedback and said he would use this information to the restaurants benefit and try to serve it in a different way in the future. The bulgur with sausage was good, sausage was a bit dry, but tasted great, the veal stew and mozzarella salad were what can be expected, but the chorizo croquettes, are amazing!!! I would definitely recommend these when you go there.
For desert we shared a chocolade mouleux with white chocolate ice-cream. This was a decent finish for our meal that was easily enough for two people that eat a lot.
So to conclude for this price (we paid 55 euros in total including tip), in this nice area of the city, a very...
Read moreMay 2022. We went here two times in about 2 months. It’s a small restaurant located in the jordaan, easily reachable by public transport or bike/foot. Their specialty is small dishes from various Mediterranean countries (think tapas) that can be shared, with a focus on Spanish. It is recommended to reserve, as it quite popular. We found the service quick and amiable, and the overall quality of the food was very good. We tried many different dishes, only the cheeses we didn’t like. A pity that the paella was absent the second time we visited, as that was especially good. I would recommend to take wine or beer, as the sangria was too sweet to our liking. The overall atmosphere is quite jovial and loud, so be prepared for a bit of chaos. Given the quality of the food and the location, the price was a pleasant surprise. Recommended if you are in for (healthy) Mediterranean dishes to share, in a...
Read moreVery bad night , all dishes without flavour, ham nothing exciting, meat that seemed old and always poor in flavour, chorizo croquettes even those without flavour, not even a hint of spiciness from the chorizo, nothing, I says again , nooothing. I tell the waitress my opinion on things = no flavour, she replies that Dutch people like it and that's fine, being Italian I don't expect to go to a restaurant where only Dutch people like it, they eat anything and don't know about flavours, but it's definitely not for people who aren't Dutch, I had a really BAD Valentine's Day, the money would have been better I would have thrown it out the window, thanks...
