Great experience, customer service, and food! I arrived at the restaurant by myself in a wheelchair while waiting for my friends to arrive. The restaurant is small (see photos for reference) and has about 3-5 steps required for entry. In regards to accessibility, there is no ramp, so you must be able to walk up a few steps if you want to go in. There is also a bathroom located inside the restaurant down a pretty steep flight of stairs. I wanted to make sure that there was enough space for my group of 8 friends and I was able to get the attention of a waiter (Marcos) by waving at him through the window and gesturing for him to come to the front door. He said he would arrange some tables and there would be enough seating for my group. I told him that I could walk up the stairs and he offered to help me bring my wheelchair inside. He was very helpful and found a safe and convenient space to put my wheelchair near our table. I asked if I could charge my phone, and he found a place to charge it. He later plugged in my friend's phone to charge as well. He was very kind and helpful throughout the entire experience. The food was delicious! I ordered the ravioli with spinach and gorgonzola cheese (I don't remember exactly what it was called), but it exceeded my expectations. My friends were also satisfied with their dishes. Marcos provided great customer service and went out of his way to take a group photo for us at the end. It was a very pleasant and positive experience. I would definitely go back and recommend...
Read morePlease don’t waste your money! Worst restaurant ever. We stopped here after a two hour walking tour and were famished. I ordered penne italia and it had no cream (advertised “in creamy tomato sauce”). I asked the server if there was cream in it and he said no. I said please see the menu as it says it’s supposed to have cream. He went and came back and said it does have cream. I am a chef, I know there wasn’t any cream in there (see picture below), the quality of the penne itself was cheap and it was over cooked (some of it had started falling apart - do they keep the pasta cooked and then reheat in the oven? I wouldn’t be surprised..). The server then dumped off some “Parmesan cheese” which tasted like cheap cheese with a ton of flour mixed in. I cannot believe how this place is open, it is quite possibly the worst of tourist traps. See attached picture of the “creamy” pasta, even after adding chilli flakes and a lot of “Parmesan”, it was barely edible. We hate wasting food and typically always get leftovers packed but decided that we couldn’t treat our...
Read moreGood food and terrible service
I have been consistently visiting Piccolo Mondo for past few trips to Amsterdam, but unfortunately today will be my last visit due to abysmal customer service by servers.
Everything went well until I was eating my food. But when the time came to get the check, it was as if I wasn't there. Couple of tables adjacent to me got a prompt bill and left before I could get anyone to even ask for one. Waited for 5 minutes, and realizing it's not going to work, I walked to the bar area. The server girl who was supposed to get my bill was just hanging around it casually as if there is no one in the restaurant.
Even there, she acted as if it's none of her business to get the check. However, she woke up as soon as other group of people walked past me and immediately got the check. There was another wait time of 8 minutes since everybody in that group was paying individually.
I am giving at most one star because food was of good quality, manager was attentive and I had an excellent experience while visiting this place...
