Salsa Shop — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Ordered 2 burritos from Uber Eats, clearly mentioning No Cheese, No sour cream. Low and behold, 1 burrito arrives with both, and another with cheese.

I am lactose intolerant. Dairy was easily visible in the first burrito so I didn’t consume it. The second one “appeared to be dairy free”. After a few bites I realized that I was wrong. It too had cheese.

Now I am dealing with an upset stomach because you guys don’t care about reading instructions before delivering. Have complained about you to uber eats too.

We showed up about an hour before closing, a party of ten fresh from Delft. Staff probably thought, “Perfect, just what we needed before cleaning time.” But they didn’t flinch — rearranged, served, smiled. Heroes.

The taco I had? So stuffed I couldn’t even hold it and ended up eating it with a fork. Still absolutely amazing. Portions generous, prices fair, service excellent. Conveniently close to my mom’s hotel, so she’s now officially a fan of “Mexican nights.”

I was surprised that the quality of this fast tex-mex food was actually pretty good. Enough ingredients to pick from and they a looked and tasted fresh. For the hot sauce lovers plenty of spicyness, but be warned for those who think black peper or plain sambal is spicy because you will regret it otherwise.

The only turn-off was the very burned and messy looking grill plates on the background. I assume (hope) that it gets cleaned before starting a new batch, but it was not a pretty sight.
