Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier (5,4%) 50cl
Witte Wijn (Villa Jl Grauburgunder)

It’s a typical German restaurant with selection of Schnitzel options , sides and sauces on top. You can choose from pork, chicken and vegetarian Schnitzel. They also have nice apple deserts. The prices are decent when compared to amount of food you get. This was my review 5 months ago hence i returned back today for dinner with friends. However the experience is way different, I forgot to ask for a chicken schnitzel, i wanted to change it afterwards which i was treated really bad. The attitude from the waiter was you have to pay again if you want to change your selection which i did not quite understand. Also when serving beer they hit the table with the glasses as if we were not welcomed there. When new food arrived the other waiter was surprised to hear that there was a new order which he did not know and said they are going to replace it. At the end of the night when we asked the bill we saw that it was counted double, and when we tried to explain it was a cold response as my colleague already told you that you have to pay. We were going to pay anyways but for next time we wanted to give feedback since we thought it’s a bit weird since they can replace the meal with only switching the meat. They did not care at all, i am deeply dissatisfied with the behavior hence i am updating my review to not recommended based on recent experience.

On a Tuesday afternoon I made a reservation at 2PM for lunch, and it turned out to be a great choice! While most places in Amsterdam are packed and noisy around that time, this spot was calm, cozy, and welcoming. The staff is friendly, genuine, and took the time to make me feel at ease. No rush, no fuss. Good vibes only! I went for the Kraftschnitzel (chicken) with onions, hollandaise sauce, melted cheese, and grilled potatoes with crispy bacon on the side. 🥔🥓 Every bite reminded me why I liked this place before. It’s comforting, hearty food done right! It’s one of those places where you can truly slow down, enjoy your meal, and just be in the moment. Definitely recommended, especially if you’re looking for a peaceful lunch spot before the evening crowd. 📍Located right at Zuidas, easy to reach — even on a quiet afternoon. Highly recommended to make a reservation when you want to have some dinner in the evening!

I'm a huge fan of schnitzel, and WuSH always delivers. I'm a big fan of their Chicken schnitzel avocado salad and their WuSH veal schnitzel. The place tends to be clean, not too busy, cozy atmosphere. Service is a bit on the slower side sometimes though. The only downside is that some of their menu items just don't taste that great, making the experience a bit hit or miss if you don't know what to order. Maybe it's just my lack of taste, but the spätzl specifically tastes bland and uninspired. The currywurst, tasted more like indian Tikka masala wurst than German currywurst, which is still alright, but a bit unexpected. So if you go here, stick to the WuSH schnitzel and the salad. If they ask for a side dish, go for potatoes (or anything other than spätzl) and you'll have a great time. If you are daring and want to try other options, I can't guarantee your enjoyment as much.

Bit of a different experience than all my previous visits, which was a while ago, I admit. The waitress informed me that the Kölsch was taken off the menu. Instead she recommended the replacement of the Kölsch which unfortunately couldn't compete with my expectations.

I ordered a Kraft schnitzel with mushrooms. They must have a new chef and forgot to inform how to prepare the schnitzel as the schnitzel didn't look like the schnitzels I ordered in the past. The meal was prepared as a standard Kraft schnitzel and the mushrooms were placed on top of the cheese. I hoped to get these below the cheese. The waitress didn't ask me and I wasn't specific enough. After the cheese melts under a salamander the few mushrooms were dry and undone. The hollandaise sauce was scarcely applied underneath the cheese. The sauce's flavour wasn't present enough. I found the abundance of hollandaise sauce and toppings/cheese/meat ratio one of the best things about WUSH. 'They seem to get it!' I use to say to my friends.

All in all, disappointed how WUSH lowered their standard and became 'one of those' types of restaurants in my book. I am starting to miss their unique selling point of providing a real German experience you would normally get at restaurants across Germany which they definitely had when they opened their doors. I strongly recommend going back to the old ways...

Okay food, abysmal service. We were sat down in an area slightly lower than the main part by the bar and felt like we were invisible. We had to ask to be given food menus. Waiters did not come and take our order, we had to stand up to be seen and deliberately wave them down. The place is not big, we were just being ignored.

Our food took an hour to arrive. When I complained about the time it took, staff became incredibly defensive and told me that "some people just came in before you and took your table" as if that has anything to do with us. I then explained that we had been sat feeling ignored and the head waiter literally just said "ok, sorry about that" and walked off.

No recourse was made to address the bad service beyond saying "sorry for that" - most places would usually offer a concession.

Food itself was average - nothing special. Flammekuche tasted more of cheese and bacon and less creamy than a typical flammekuche - schnitzel and currwurst very average.

Overall, not great food and inattentive staff with an attitude problem....
