I recently visited Loetje on the Zuidas, and I really loved the space. It's a large restaurant with a beautiful interior and a big terrace that makes it feel open and inviting. The atmosphere is lively and trendy, and I can see why it's such a popular spot.

I ordered the beef tenderloin with garlic sauce, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite meet my expectations. The garlic flavor was practically nonexistent, and I had asked for my steak to be cooked medium rare, but it came out more on the medium to well-done side, which was a bit disappointing. It was also a little too greasy, as it was sitting in a pool of brown butter.

On the plus side, the service was very friendly, though a little on the slow side. Just a note—side dishes are charged separately, so it’s something to keep in mind when ordering.

Overall, Loetje is a great spot with a fantastic ambiance. While the food didn’t hit the mark for me this time, I’d still say it’s worth visiting, especially for...

My visits to Restaurant Loetje at the Amsterdam Zuidas have consistently been an absolute delight. As an established chain with multiple locations, the Zuidas branch distinguishes itself with its charming waterside terrace. Each time I find myself craving a good steak, Loetje is my go-to destination. The highlight, without a doubt, is their succulent Tenderloin Beef. The gravy, rich and flavorful, elevates this dish, perfectly complementing the white bread provided for dipping and taking the experience to a new level. The side dishes, particularly the Sweet Potato Fries, Sautéed Mushrooms, and Sautéed Onion, all enhance the main course beautifully. The staff are attentive and friendly, consistently contributing to the excellent dining experience. Dining on the terrace, with its serene views over the water, adds a special touch to the meal, making each visit truly...

Frustrating. I had the tenderloin steak with mushrooms and fries. My frustration was over the really quite excessive amount of fat/oil in the gravy. But for that, it would have been an excellent meal; the steak itself was tender, tasty, and perfectly cooked to my order. I also had an espresso Martini that was very well made.

I realize that fat content in food is to a certain extent a subjective matter, but I can't imagine that many people would favour this amount on either health or taste grounds (not to mention that it left me feeling a bit queasy an hour later). I think it must have been oil added in the cooking since the meat itself seemed quite lean.

The number of staff seemed insufficient for how busy it was (at around 20:30); the staff were courteous but it took a long time to get their attention, and it must have taken around 15 minutes to...

I recently dined at Loetje and tried the Biefstuk 0.0 (€23.5), a vegetarian steak made from soy, mustard, milk, and gluten, served with the authentic Loetje jus. This plant-based steak is incredibly close to the original, with a great texture and juicy flavor that rivals real beef. The unique taste was a delightful surprise, making it the best vegan meat alternative I've ever had. Along with the steak, we enjoyed fried onions (€3.75), fries with mayonnaise (€6.75), and a mixed salad with bacon (€6.75). The meal, accompanied by two Weihenstephaner beers, was fantastic. We sat on the terrace by the water, basking in the sun. The service was prompt and friendly, and the overall dining experience was pleasant. While Loetje might not offer a unique dining ambiance, the consistent quality and now excellent plant-based options make it a favorite. Highly recommend!

We always get the classic loetje steak in medium rare. Most of the time it's really good, however, it feels like lately they changed their recipe (not that it's bad, just tastes different). Make sure to take the mushrooms and onions to put on the gravy, optionally toasted bread too! Sweet potato fries hit the spot every single time. I prefer to take truffle mayo instead of aioli, as it enhances the taste both of the fries and the truffle. This isn't my favorite but my boyfriend always takes sticky toffee for the desert. It's very moist and warm, can be served with whipped cream if you ask. Sometimes it's very busy (usually in the evenings), so they take a while to get your order. Overall I really like loetje, even if it's pricey.
