Read moreThe service was terrible. I love this restaurant and have been many times in many different cities and different locations within the same city. The service is always very friendly and accommodating. Its the first time I ever experienced rude customer service at one of their restaurants.
I arrived without a reservation and the restaurant was full. I was told I had to wait. I was happy to wait. Then the server said you have to wait in line. And I of course had no problem with that so I stood off to the side where other people were waiting. He said, no, in line outside. First of all, there was not a line outside. Because its currently Storm Amy, super windy, cold and pouring rain. Flights are delayed and cancelled because the wind is so strong and random. I said, you want me to wait in the rain? And he said yes, that's how it works. I said, im sorry but I dont want to be soaking wet while waiting, and you can't even give me a wait time...which is fine. Because im happy to wait, but can I just wait here where there is space and im not bothering anyone? He said no, you must wait outside in line....😐. There was even an empty chair next to another woman who was waiting, inside, but he would not let me sit there. I could see if I was a party of 4 to 5 people, blocking the entrance. I was 1 person. And the other people who were there waiting, were doing exactly what I asked, which was to stay dry from the storm outside. He told me that's how it works here, and I said no, that's how it works for you sir, and that's incorrect to make a customer wait in a storm, if they dont have to. Its quite often that you receive bad service at restaurants in Holland. But there are certainly places and people who do care about their customers. He definitely fit the stereotype and I hope that does not become the norm at other Takumi locations. Obviously, I left and went somewhere else. Takumi has excellent food(which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1) and if you have a reservation and or its not crowded then hopefully you'll have a...

Amazing Experience at Takumi Twice!
Over the past few weeks, I had the pleasure of dining twice at Takumi in Amsterdam with my best friend, who wasn’t yet familiar with the concept. She was extremely impressed by the taste and quality of the various ramen noodle soups we tried. The flavors were rich, authentic, and perfectly balanced. She even gave the chefs a big compliment well deserved!
I personally went for the vegan options. The first time I had the Black Garlic Miso Tofu Ramen, and the second time I chose a spicy vegan miso ramen, packed with fresh vegetables and topped with grilled baby corn and king oyster mushrooms my absolute favorite! My best friend had a chicken and vegetable ramen, and we both more than enjoyed our meals.
Takumi offers a cozy atmosphere and consistently high-quality dishes that keep you coming back. While we visited the location in Amsterdam, there's also a restaurant in cities like Utrecht. Next time, we’re planning to try the one in Utrecht, which happens to be my daughter’s favorite. She says the ramen noodle soup there is the best she’s ever had!
Highly recommended for anyone who loves delicious, authentic Japanese ramen with excellent vegan...
